Corporate whore, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, ordered police thugs to arrest ‘Occupy Chicago’ protesters. Among many of the arrested were volunteer nurses.
Countdown’s Keith Olbermann interviewed Jan Rodolfo, Midwest Director, National Nurses United.
RODOLFO: “Right, we were there as nurses, although we do support the Occupy movement and Occupy Chicago wholeheartedly. Very inspired by them.”
OLBERMANN: “Do you plan to go back?”
RODOLFO: “Absolutely. I think we feel a stronger resolve after this, and really believe that Occupy Chicago and the Occupy movement represent the possibility of changing the whole narrative in the country. And, actually, we believe that the 99 percent out there are suffering, and we see it all the time at the beside as nurses. We see this as the best chance to actually change that narrative.”

The “Occupy” movement is national and international. Even in Iran, Occupy protests are springing up and taking hold. You write the Chicago police are thugs and this may be true. But I would add that Rahm Emanuel is also a thug. He’s a loathsome little wiesel.
Nothing poses a greater threat to the city of Chicago and their business community more than a group socially conscious Registered Nurses. Rahm is a small-minded idiot. Tell me again, why did the voters of Chicago elect this clown? I’ve noticed too how Obama is moving to the left on issues now than Rahm is out of the picture?
Rahm Emanuel is on the wrong side of history.
If he keeps up this bullshit, he will serve just one term. I know a lot of folks in Chicago and they are not too please with his leadership as mayor.

Good for the nurses. This is what happens when you try to tamp down on PEACEFUL protests. It spreads to the front door of City Hall. The idea that allowing the exercise of free speech by peaceful protesters (again that word “peaceful”) needs to be “balanced” by Rahm against protecting other city laws is pretty lame and offensive. Which laws are he talking about? Protecting the groundskeeping of Grant Park. Let’s remind ourslves that these are peaceful citizens assembling in a civil manner. There is no history of a “radical” factions among these individuals. They even civilly presented a petition to stay in the park, but were ignored. Obviously spin-meister-in-cheif Rahm’s suggestion that he needs to enforce other laws other than the First Amendment is all smoke for his just wanting these people to shut up and go a way so he can go back to spending the people’s money and raising more of it through his expensive taxes.
