Rick Perry is a Birther

Sunday, October 23, 2011

The list of reasons Rick Perry is ill-suited to be the next president of the United States just keeps growing. Add “birther” to the list.

In a Q&A in Parade Magazine on October 23, 2011, Perry was asked if he believes President Barack Obama was born in the U.S.? His responses follow:

Governor, do you believe that President Barack Obama was born in the United States?
“I have no reason to think otherwise.”

That’s not a definitive, “Yes, I believe he”—
“Well, I don’t have a definitive answer, because he’s never seen my birth certificate.”

But you’ve seen his.
“I don’t know. Have I?”

You don’t believe what’s been released?
“I don’t know. I had dinner with Donald Trump the other night.”

And?
“That came up.”

And he said?
“He doesn’t think it’s real.”

And you said?
“I don’t have any idea.”

Once the clear GOP front runner, Perry is now at fourth place or a paltry 9%.

With his popularity quickly evaporating with potential voters, Rick Perry has found a kindred spirit in Orly Taitz, the so-called “Birther Queen”.

Taitz told Think Progress that Perry was receptive to her obsession message about President Obama’s birth certificate and said he would even bring the issue up during his campaign.

ROFL! It just gets better and better.

Even if Perry, who isn’t the brightest bulb in the box, actually thinks Obama is a foreign national and his record of live birth and all the supporting documentation going back to the early 1960′s is some sort of carefully orchestrated conspiracy, common sense during a presidential primary season says keep such thoughts and beliefs to yourself.

Or, the American people will think you are insane.

  2. R.J. says:

I’m not convinced Texas is part of the United States with the way their leaders talk about democracy and human rights. If they secede, then Perry isn’t eligible to become POTUS.

    Let ‘em go.

  3. One Fly says:

Of course Big Whore media continues to give the pile of bull shit life.

  4. Arizona Leatherneck says:

When you’re numbers are in the single digits like Perry, you have nothing to lose so you shoot the moon and go for the crazy because the crazies are only people left still willing to listen to you.

Time to fold up and the tent, Ricky. The party has past you by.

  5. Pechanga says:

    What a pair of lunatics.

I was looking at the pictures you used for this post and I thought, imagine if Perry were the GOP nominee? He could put Orly on the ticket as his veep. They could call themselves,

    “Perry/Taitz 2012. Birthers for America!”

  6. feminazi says:

Perry has aligned himself with the fringe element of the Tea Party. Secessionists, birthers, etc.

  7. Joe in Colorado says:

Trump is a virus like influenza. When you’re exposed to it, you start acting crazy. Perry never said anything publicly about Obama’s birth certificate until he spent time with Trump. Now, he’s a birther. Maybe the CDC and NIH can develop a vaccine to protect people from Trumphilis.

  8. Brigadoon says:

There’s a village in Texas missing an idiot.

  9. okjimm says:

    //“I don’t have any idea.”//
Perhaps the most honest thing he has said….. so, see, I figure if you take Perry’s No Ideas, mix them with Herman Cain’s No Plan, through in some Bachmann No Clue, just a tad bit of Romney’s No Conviction, blend with Gingrich No Moral……aw, shit, you just getz a bunch of nothing.

  10. Randy Arroyo says:

Rick Perry is a fool. A desperate fool who thinks worshiping at the Temple of Trump will help him win the Republican nomination. I got news for Rick. He’s done. He isn’t going to win the nomination and he sure as hell isn’t going to be the next president.

  11. Mets Fan says:

In the words of the Washington Post:

“If at first you don’t secede, try the birther movement.” Perry’s campaign is through. Next?

  12. It almost appears as if Rick Perry’s campaign staff has been infiltrated by Mitt Romney operatives. He is completely self-destructing.
