Mitt Romney Suggests President Obama is “Foreign”

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Mitt Romney is feeling the pangs of desperation. With the 2012 presidential barely more than 90 days from now, and the polls showing President Obama comfortably ahead in the polls, the Republican nominee has been reduced to saying the president is governing like a foreigner.

In an exchange with CNBC’s radical rightwing anchor, Larry Kudlow, Romney said the following:

KUDLOW: What do you think it means? Do you think this is Obama anti-business, anti-entrepreneur, or do you think maybe he has been treated unfairly?

ROMNEY: Well, I just read the whole speech. I found the speech even more disconcerting than just that particular line. The context is worse than the quote. It’s a very strange and in some respects foreign to the American experience type of philosophy. His [Obama’s] whole philosophy is an upside-down philosophy that does not comport with the American experience.

If you don’t have $250 million of worth and secret bank accounts in tax havens in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands, then of course President Obama seems “foreign” to Willard.

It reminds me of Romney’s remarks about NASCAR. He said he doesn’t watch it but he “has several friends of NASCAR teams.” He’s totally out of touch with the real world.

  2. Rachel says:

The “other” argument is right up there with the far-right’s claims that 9/11 was an inside job and NASA staged the moon landing on a sound stage. Romney has gone over to the dark side.

  3. Arizona Leatherneck says:

    What Rachel said.

Romney loses all credibility making comments like this. He’s either receiving terrible advice or he honestly thinks this about the president. If so, he’s ill-suited to be the next president. We have too many pressing problems to address.

We don’t need any additional conspiracy theories.

  4. DMason says:

It’s time for people in the DNC to start calling Willard on his deceit. Enough is enough.

  5. Bobasauras says:

Mitt is mentally ill. He is incapable of telling the truth. Bobasauras

  6. Randy Arroyo says:

Romney is a crafty snake. He always stops just shy of calling Obama a Muslim but you know this is what he wants his audience to come away with. He’s a true scumbag and I can’t wait to see him to down in flames on Nov. 6th when the poll results come in.

  7. Adirondacky says:

The mitts come off Mitt? Let the race begin. Now the undecided American electorate will see what a douchebag Romney is and why he doesn’t belong anywhere near 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

  8. ChiTOM says:

I predict in one of the three, upcoming presidential debates, Romney will mention:

    1.) Rev. Wright
    2.) Obama’s birth certificate
    3.) Obama’s faith

I mean, think about it. Romney can’t run on his record because as Massachusetts governor, his state healthcare program was the template for Obama’s Affordable Care Act. If he mentions it, Obama will kick Romney back to the Mormon Temple.

  9. Fran says:

    Mitt Romney “does not comport”.
    The ultimate 1% er….
People need to Occupy the voting ballots & send Mitt packing.

  10. Joe in Colorado says:

My guess is, Romney has had very little interaction with African Americans throughout his life so for him, so Obama must seem quiet foreign to him. Blacks are people you see on TV playing basketball and football, and possibly performing music and dancing. Romney is the whitest presidential I can recall so he must be very flummoxed by the notion of he’s facing a black opponent.

  11. feminazi says:

I think ChiTOM is onto something. Romney won’t be able to resist Jeremiah Wright and the stupid birth certificate conspiracy pushed by people like Donald Trump. I’d like to think the debates will be more civil but not in 2012.
