Weiner Pulls Out

Thursday, June 16, 2011

New York Rep. Anthony Weiner, the six-term congressman who sent lewd pictures of him in various states of dress and undress to at least five cyber babes, including a porn star, will resign from office.

The New York Times reports:

Weiner told House members, including Minority leader Nancy Pelosi that he plans to resign his seat after coming under growing pressure from his Democratic colleagues to leave the House.

He will resign in Brooklyn at 2 p.m. today, according to two sources.

No word on what Mr. Weiner will do for a living. He doesn’t possess a business degree or a law degree. Perhaps, he will find employment at CNN as a political analyst. CNN has a proven history of hiring disgraced, former politicians.

A few sources speaking on background say his wife, Huma Abedin, is preparing to leave him.

She’s a Clintonian and so close to Bill and Hill that Bill refers to her as his “second daughter.” I hope it was worth it, Anthony. What a moron.

  2. Joe in Colorado says:

Weiner became a big distraction for the Democrats. Since the country has a short memory, in three months I don’t think many people will even remember who Anthony Weiner is, and we can focusing our attention on the next election, jobs, ending the four wars we’re in, and hopefully, replacing the current occupant of the White House.

  3. Brigadoon says:

Now Anthony Weiner can spend his free time shopping for a new camera phone that takes higher resolution pictures for him to use in the bathroom and bedroom while Huma is traveling with Hillary Clinton.

    HOT DOG!!!!!!

  5. Thai Noodles says:

Does this mean Andrew Breitbart can now focus his energies on forcing David Vitter out of the US Senate?

  6. Arizona Leatherneck says:

There are many different and varied definitions of morality.

One holds that morality is what you do when no one is watching. If we use this definition, then what Mr. Weiner did while his wife was out of the country, traveling with Hillary Clinton, then you could conclude he’s immoral. But, at the end of the day, this matter is now between Mr. Weiner and his wife to settle.

All I know is, if I were married to a looker like Huma, I would be taking pictures of her. Not myself.

  7. Estacada says:

He only has himself to blame. Sorry, but no sympathy from me.

When Pelosi was speaker and said she would drain the Washington DC cesspool, somehow, Weiner held on for dear life and survived to give the Dems another scandal.

  8. DMason says:

I just watched the presser and it was one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen. Someone in the crowd shouted out, “Is it bigger than 7 inches?” Unbelievable. So much for public service being an honorable career path. This guy is an utter joke. I hope his district does better next time.

  9. Someone in the crowd shouted out, “Is it bigger than 7 inches?”

    David,

I heard it was none other than Benji from the Howard Stern Show. FOFLMAO! Stern never disappoints and that’s why I love him.

  10. So Huma will dump him and he’ll have to go on “The Apprentice” or “Dancin’ With the Stars” or some other disgraceful show to feed his need for attention (and keep the creditors at bay). Then maybe a Jerry Springer like show? It’s all so fucking predictable. And so the United States goes out with a whimper and not a bang.

  11. Mets Fan says:

I read the state of New York is eliminating two congressional seats as a result of shrinking population.

Maybe one of those seats will be Weiner’s former district seat?
