The Vatican blame game for the pedophile priest sex abuse scandal rocking the Roman Catholic Church to its foundation has taken a new and ugly turn. The latest attempt to deflect culpability and accountability and protect Pope Benedict XVI is drenched in vile anti-semitism and represents a new low — even for the Roman Catholic hierarchy.
Giacomo Babini, an emeritus bishop of Grosseto, Italy, believes recent criticism of Pope Benedict XVI’s failure to deal with known pedophile priests, he believes is a “Zionist attack.”
Speaking on the Catholic website Pontifex, Babini, 81, was quoted as saying:
“They do not want the church, they are its natural enemies. Deep down, historically speaking, the Jews are God killers.”
Bishop Babini is a real piece of work. He was previously quoted on the Pontifex website accusing Jews of exploiting the Holocaust, as well as criticising homosexuality.

I was born in 1938 in Providence, RI. We didn’t move to Connecticut until I was 12. Providence back then was predominantly Italian/Portuguese and as you can imagine, heavily Catholic. One of my first experiences with anti-Semitism was in grade school. The kids knew I was Jewish and taunted me, saying “the Jews killed Jesus.” It was ugly and I was made to feel guilty for something I wasn’t responsible for. Of course, this was long ago but reading the words of this terrible Bishop took me back to my childhood.
Like I said on an earlier thread. I think we’re seeing the end of the Catholic church. At this rate, I don’t see how it will survive much longer.
Maybe it will become much like the British Monarchy?

I stand with those who have condemned the Catholic faith, for I have condemnded it for as long as I have been alive. As I do all faiths. I only hope that we can all find the peace within ourselves that makes our lives worth living. Whether it be gay, strait, white, black, male or female….I just want us to be the best we can be, without the fear of being hurt for those feelings and beliefs.
