Homophobe and Bible Thumper, Chick-Fil-A CEO, Dan Cathy, Is Still a Bigot
Recently, there was much hoopla surrounding the announcement Chick-Fil-A, the Atlanta, GA-based fast food chain, that the company had stopped funding antigay, traditional-marriage groups as a concession to gain approval for a restaurant in Chicago, even saying that it has made no concessions in its funding philosophy and, in the words of company president Dan Cathy, remains “true to who we are.”
Not so fast.
Now comes word from the mouth of rightwing Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy, posted on Mike Huckabee’s website, the company’s position on LGBT rights hasn’t changed:
“There [continue] to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago. That is incorrect. Chick-fil-A made no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been.”
Let’s hope this “clarification” helps Chicago decide against approving a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in “The Windy City”.

I never trusted Dan Cathy. He didn’t have an epiphany and became a decent guy. The roots of his religious bigotry run too deep. One of the great things about America is we have choices about how and where we spend our money. You won’t see me eating at a Chick-Fil-A.
It would be political suicide for Rahm Emanuel if the Chicago city council approved a permit to build a Chick-Fil-A. I don’t think it will happen.
Besides a strong dislike for the bitter aftertaste of discrimination, I would never eat @ this chain.
Happily, they do not have one restaurant in the entire State of Oregon.
Maybe they don’t do business in Blue states? Just as well– this liberal college town would relentlessly protest & boycott their establishment in a very public way.
The closest Chick-fil-a is in Boise, Idaho 359 miles away, or Roseville, California, 324 miles away.
All eyes will be watching to see if Chi town is a sellout or says no to businesses that openly discriminate. Which will it be– ethics or profits?
I love Chicago; the museums, the architecture, the baseball teams, the people and the food.
That said, I hope Chicago declines this hate restaurant a permit. The Chicago I know, a huge city rich with diversity, is not a place Chick-Fil-A belongs. Do the right thing Chicago and tell Dan Cathy no, no, no.
Never heard of Chick-Fil-A until the controversy. I would never eat there. Even if the food is free.
If you want a decent, fast food, chicken sandwich, try Wendy’s or KFC. Fuck Hate-Fil-A.
Dan Cathy can’t be trusted.

Someone in corporate decided to release the news announcement stating Chick-Fil-A had changed their corporate policy. But they forgot to muzzle Dan Cathy who didn’t get the memo and who has a very different view of equality which is really just the same, old policy. This man hates “teh gays” and until he’s out of the picture, Chick-Fil-A won’t join the 21st century.
We have choices as consumers and knowing where Dan Cathy stands on gay rights allows us to be informed. Chick-Fil-A is now permanently off my radar screen. Keep fucking that chicken, Dan. I’ll eat at KFC.
