Is Pickles Bush Paranoid or Just a Drama Queen?

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

We haven’t heard much from Pickles Bush since the 2008 presidential election. I mean, her raison d’etre while First Lady was champion for the rights of women in Afghanistan but, as soon as she left Washington and resumed private life, her interest in such humanitarian causes immediately waned.

But Pickles has been keeping busy at home in Dallas, TX. She’s penned a new memoir, Spoken from the Heart, in which she blasts her husband’s political adversaries for “calling him names,” takes on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for calling Mr. Bush “an incompetent leader” and, even discusses the infamous car crash back in Midland, TX, when she ignored a stop sign, and plowed her car into another car occupied by her high school boyfriend, killing him.

But the strangest part of the memoir is arguably the chapter where she alleges that she and Mr. Bush were poisoned whilst visiting Germany. Pickles writes:

“Ms. Bush also suggests, apparently for the first time, that she, Mr. Bush, and several members of their staff may have been poisoned during a visit to Germany for a G8 Summit. They all became mysteriously sick, and the president was bedridden for part of the trip.”

Curious stuff. Especially since everyone know any food and drink consumed by a U.S. president and his family during an official trip is first checked for safety by the Secret Service before it’s served to the presidential party. This passage certainly begs the question: is Pickles Bush paranoid or just a drama queen?

  1. Joe in Colorado says:

As much as I detest the Bush clan, can you imagine if they had really been poisoned and died? Then Cheney and that shrew wife of him would’ve assumed the mantle of president and First Lady. At least as the de facto president, we rarely saw Cheney and never saw Lynne.

  2. Peace Nick says:

    Like mother-in-law, like daughter-in-law?

I read an excerpt from Pickle’s memoir where she said she tried to not even think about that awful day when she caused the car crash which killed her boyfriend.

Those Bush broads don’t like to sully their beautiful minds. Even when it involves murder.

  3. Rachel says:

Pickles is a liar. I don’t believe her. She sold her soul to the devil when she married George and agreed to be his beard and traded her simple, low-paying job as a school teacher for a Dallas country club wife with access to the Bush dynasty’s millions. She makes me sick to my stomach.

  4. Tiny Dancer says:

    Pickles Bush = Drama Queen.

  5. bradfrmphnx says:

I’d say Pickles is both paranoid and a drama queen, amongst a slew of other adjectives. Dumb, subserviant, misguided, offensive…

  6. Walk on Socks says:

You know who else wrote a book as soon as she left Washington DC?

Nancy Reagan. It was called, “My Turn.”

Largely dismissed as a vicious, stick-in-the-eye to everyone she saw as being less than loyal to “Ronnie,” Nancy’s book was all about settling political scores with members of St. Reagan’s administration who she hated.

    Like Donald Regan.

  7. Brigadoon says:

I don’t know if you happened to see LGBT News this morning but they have an excerpt from Pickle’s book where she claims she begged George not to make gay marriage a campaign issue in 2004 because they have so many “close, gay friends.” So now Pickles is a gay marriage advocate? Where was she in 2004?

  8. lea-lea says:

Brigadoon — Are you serious? Pickles wrote this in her book?

I vividly recall her saying marriage equality was very offensive to Americans and against Christian teaching.

  9. Aunt Peg says:

Pickles? Christopher, you are too funny!

Well, I don’t like to speak badly of people but in her case, between paranoid and drama queen? Can I say 50/50?
