Quote of the Day

“He’s [Cheney] a militant who avoided any service of his own in the military and he has been most forceful in the last 10 years or more in fulfilling some of his more ancient commitments that the United States has a right to inject its power through military means in other parts of the world. You know he’s been a disaster for our country.” – former president Jimmy Carter, on BBC America

  1. i saw that , and may the goddesses and gods bless Jimmy , while not a pristine angel – he was so too good for this country – we seem to hate our peace makers..And the whole Iran hostage deal and release on Reagans coronation day …sorry but i am not a coincidence theorist….Jimmy is a hero to me. As he is getting to the end of his days – he is speaking the truthes so many do not want to hear. I love him for that.

The MSM is going batshit crazy over Carter’s remarks. This morning on Joe Scarborough’s MSNBC program, he had Lynne Cheney as a gues and she functioned as Cheney’s attack dog. I really think these people are afraid of Carter because he has a certain moral authority that none of them have.

  3. Dick Tater says:

“Militant.” Great description of Darth Cheney.

Someone or someones referred to Jimmy Carter as the “most successful former president in history.” It’s an apt description in my opinion.

From his tireless work at the Carter Center in Atlanta, to his volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, to his efforts to eradicate disease in Africa, Carter is unique and a role model for decency.

No wonder Lynne Cheney and her husband, Dick, hates the man.

  4. Harry says:

I always liked Carter. He’s seems like a good guy.

  5. Larry says:

Now the right winger will be after Carter for simply telling the truth.

One of the few Democrats left with guts.

  6. DCVET says:

Who the hell does Carter think he is any, questioning the great Dick Cheney?

After all, Cheney got a military deferral so he “could earn money.”

Cheney is the American patriot and Carter is the un-American thug.

    Don’t you know anything?

  7. phil_in_ny says:

    You can say that again.

  8. Lynn Cheney an attack dog? Well, she does look the part!

Okay, okay that was mean. I take it back. Sort of…..

  9. Rachel says:

DC Vet – LMAO! True, we libs never learn! Darth Cheney is great! He’d da’ man! 🙂

  10. distributorcap says:

good for Carter, while not the best president — he found his role afterwards —

it is SO refreshing to hear the truth from people who have been told to muzzle it or even lie

    you go James!!

  11. Jim says:

    Amen, Jimmy.

  12. Uber Highwayman says:

I wonder if Le Grande Poohbah of Wikipedia, Morton Devonshire, would allow THAT quote on his online encyclopedia!

He’s feeling a tad besieged, these days!

    😆

  13. dad2059 says:

Carter was a good neoliberal President.

He was rail-roaded by St. Ronnie’s nacent neocon-munists in the Iran Hostage Deal and the lies/propaganda has been spun into the history books.

Carter pisses in Darth’s oatmeal daily just by living another 24 hours and it ties his hemerroids into Gordian Knots.

    Funnier than hell! 8-))
