Bush’s Plan for Martial Law

In what appears to be a page taken from 1984, the Bush administration has directed the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) has just announced plans for an anti-terrorism exercise called Vigilant Shield 08.

The exercise which is slated to run from October 15th to October 20th is described as a way to prepare, prevent and respond to any number of national crises. The exercise is simply a test case scenario for the implementation of martial law.

Although the description of the exercise is disturbing, USNORTHCOM also announced that they are more prepared for a natural disaster and a terrorist attack after they used their response to Hurricane Katrina as a test laboratory. During Hurricane Katrina, authorities violated the constitutional rights of citizens by stealing people’s firearms and even relocating people against their will. These announcements are incredibly disturbing on a number of levels as the nature of Vigilant Shield 08 and the admission that Hurricane Katrina was used as a test laboratory shows that the government is actively preparing the military and government institutions for martial law.

The exercise is clearly a way to prepare government to respond to a national crisis with martial law. This announcement also follows a number of other news stories that indicate the government is becoming more actively prepared for the implementation of martial law.

These include George W. Bush issuing a presidential directive declaring that he is a dictator during the case of a national emergency be it a natural disaster, a terror attack or any number of crises.

Can you believe the arrogance of Bush to lay out his plans for Martial Law for all to see.

Of course he has no Democratic Congress to stop him with all credit for that going to Pelosi and Reid.

  2. feminazi says:

So many people are convinced martial law will go into effect before the next presidential election and it will make Bush dictator for life. While I wouldn’t be surprised at this type of power grab, what does surprise me is the lack of interest in such a thing by the American people. Who cares about fantasy football when a dictatorship looms?

  3. DCVET says:

Blatant arrogance, rolling shit like this out and knowing full well the media won’t cover it.

There are millions of people in the U.S. convinced the 2004 election will go down in history not as having a lousy candidate in John Kerry but, as the last presidential election we will ever see.

The implementation of martial law will see to it that elections are just quaint reminders of a by-gone era before tyranny became the standard in the USA.

  4. Sandy A. says:

Maybe an attempt to ram martial law down the throats of Americans is just what the doctor ordered to wake this country up from it’s post-9/11 stupor?

A march on Washington of say, 20 or 30 million people all headed for the White House and the U.S. Capitol would be unstoppable.

  5. Lawrence says:

Do you get the impression the United States Congress knows exactly what George Bush is up to and they’re doing everything they can to help him achieve total dictatorial powers? These lawmakers aren’t only unpatriotic, they’re enablers.

  6. Holy Shit – I mean wtf, …..our congress, as said above are traitors, enablers, the ruling class, We the people are merely product centers to be controlled through whatever means necessary. Lulled into a sleep, while the global war for OIL continues on and on. If Congress is corrupt enough to keep funding this war, we can be sure that the Patriot Act will be “fully” implemented sooner rather then later. Its disgusting and revolting

Revolt ! Unite ! Resist ! in any way you can.

  7. dad2059 says:

Civil disobedience, boycotting of Wal-Mart and certain gas stations are sure to hit the elites where it hurts worse, their wallets.

How long would it be before someone took notice?

    Not long I assure you.
