In case you think the relationship between the U.S. and Israel could not deteriorate any further, comes a report in the Kuwaiti newspaper al-Jarida that says President Obama, planned to shoot down Israeli military jets headed for Iran.
According to a report in al-Jarida, a Kuwaiti newspaper, President Barack Obama thwarted an Israeli military attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities in 2014.
The report quotes sources who say that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had made a decision to carry out airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear program after consultations with his minister of defense Moshe Yaalon and, foreign minister Avigdor Liberman, in the presence of top security commanders.
The decision came, according to al-Jarida, after Israel revealed the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel’s back.
According to the report, Netanyahu and his commanders agreed after four nights of deliberations to task the Israeli army’s chief of staff Beni Gants to a military operation against Iran’s nuclear program. In addition, Netanyahu and his ministers decided to do whatever they could do to thwart a possible agreement between Iran and the White House because such an agreement is, allegedly, a threat to Israel’s security.
The sources added that Gants and his commanders prepared the requested plan and that Israeli fighter jets trained for several weeks in order to make sure the plans would work successfully. Israeli fighter jets even carried out experimental flights in Iran’s airspace after they managed to break through radars.
However, an Israeli minister “who has good ties with the US administration revealed Netanyahu’s plans to Secretary of State John Kerry” and as a result Obama then threatened to shoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.
Netanyahu had to abort the operation and since then, relations between Israel and the United States have been in decline.
Fire on U.S. jets. Interesting. No wonder the Israelis are convinced the U.S. under President Obama isn’t worth bothering with and the consensus of opinion in the Knesset is to wait until after the 2016 election.
In all my 74 years, I’ve never seen US/Israeli relations at such a low point.
good,, we dont need Israel’s crap policies anyway
Israel has every right to protect itself from Iran and their nuclear ambitions.
This “deal” Obama reached with Tehran is worth the paper its written on. Let’s remember, Israel bombed Iran’s nuclear facility once before. This was in response to Tehran saying they would destroy “the Zionists in Tel Aviv.”
Israel is alone in the region and without much support from the Obama administration. This president’s hatred for Jews and Israel is palpable. It’s a shame Obama is willing to throw Israel under the bus for Sharia-law Iran.
John Kerry says we should give Iran the benefit of the doubt on this nuclear deal. I’d like to know what John Kerry is smoking? Iran funds Hezbollah, trained the Taliban in Afghanistan, and refuses to recognize Israel. Yet, President Obama strikes a nuclear deal with Iran which gives them the right to restart manufacturing plutonium, a key element needed for nuclear weapons, in a decade. I won’t go so far as to call President Obama anti-Semitic but his refusal to recognize Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism and a major threat to Israel, causes me great concern.
Is anyone surprised by the revelation? After all, vehement anti-Semite Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was a top candidate to become an official advisor to President Obama, was thrown under the bus after Republican and pro-Israel Democratic charged during the campaign that Brzezinski held anti-Israel views. Believe me, Zbigniew Brzezinski is still whispering in President Obama’s ear.
Valerie Jarrett was born in Iran. Her first language is Farsi. Draw your own conclusion.
Personally, I hope Israel bombs the shit out of Iran. Iran makes no secret of the fact they want Israel excised off the map. Why is Obama nuzzling up to the Iranian government? They cannot be trusted and don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. Iran should be isolated.
I don’t think this president relates to Israel or Jews.
At a cultural level, I think he’s far more comfortable with Muslims. He was raised around Muslims and they’re his comfort level.
Someone smarter than me needs to explain why President Obama is hell-bent to strike a nuclear deal with Iran, a nation who refuses to recognize Israel and published a 9-point plan to plan to destroy Israel?
Iran isn’t a team player in any sense of the word. But, President Obama trusts them more than he trusts Israel.
What am I missing?
Stephen Iversonn,
Anything that makes the middle east safer is a good thing but, this deal isn’t it.
After a decade, Iran is free to re-launch their plutonium manufacturing factory. Once Iran is able to mint nuclear warheads, I predict the entire region will start nuclear programs of their own leading to more instability in the region and a greater threat to Israel, the EU and the USA.
To hell with Israel!
