Please meet former Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Argentina. He has chosen the papal name Pope Francis.
Here are the fascinating factoids about him:

☛ He’s the first Latin American pope and the first from the Americas
☛ He’s known for his advocacy on behalf of the poor
This is what the beady-eyed weasel said in a letter about same-sex marriage:

Nice. So it looks like the Roman Catholic Church will remained mired in the 10th century and the hopes of Catholics around the world for a more modern, inclusive church have been dashed once again.

The Catholic Church reminds me of Republicans. The more they lean to the far, right, the more they drive people away and their message becomes irrelevant. This pope is a lost opportunity to reverse their shrinking base and revitalize their message. In another 100 years, the Catholic Church will no longer exist.

In other news, a few women staged a protest against the fact no woman would be considered for Pope, by staging a topless protest.

So Francis is anti-abortion, anti-same-sex marriage and opposes gay couples adopting. Yep, he’s Catholic. I’ve come to the conclusion a prerequisite of being Pope is opposing everything. Can’t wait to see him sweep the next pedophile priest scandal under the carpet.

This man opposes gay marriage, gay adoption, contraception and abortion. From what I’ve read, he’s an Argentine version of the previous pope. Catholics hoping and praying for a change at the top will be woefully disappointed. It’s said failure to change and evolve results in nature eliminating a species. It appears this is the direction the Catholic church is headed.

This is a terrible record and suggests something is wrong at the top. We are living in very exciting times full of discovery and change. Our knowledge of science, the universe and medicine has never been greater.
Yet the Vatican chugs along like they’re living in the 8th century. I simply don’t understand why they refuse to modernize and change with the times.
Pope Francis compared gay adoption to child abuse. And Catholics are celebrating this man because he carries his own luggage?
From what I’ve read, Francis is just another Benedict XVI.
Now we’re learning Pope Francis has a closet full of skeletons from his days as Archbishop of Buenos Aires.
Jorge Bergoglio, the former Archbishop of Buenos Aires, failed to protect priests who challenged the Argentine dictatorship earlier in his career, during the 1976-1983 “dirty war”, and that he has said too little about the complicity of the Church during military rule.
The allegations centre around a time before Bergoglio became a bishop, when he was leader of the Jesuits in Argentina. Two priests kidnapped by the military government alleged Bergoglio did not protect them when he had the chance.
If true, he’s really just a common coward. How ironic he’s now the spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic church.
The only way any Pope, not just Francis, is going to change that particulars chruch’s dogmatic stance on gay marriage and abortion is by throwing out the bible. When that is done it will be easy to endorse same sex marriage as well as total acceptance of killing of in-utero babies at any stage of development. Personally I don’t see that happening until the next Pope turns out to be the anti-Christ. That is if you believe in that kind of stuff.
