If it’s Tuesday, it’s Mitt Romney caught making another gaffe. Only this time, it’s much, much worse.
On this video, filmed at a fundraiser in a wealthy donor’s mansion, the Republican can be heard disparaging people who will vote for President Obama.
Romney says:
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.”
Then, like a GOP country club plutocrat, he shocking dismisses 47% of Americans at the economic bottom, adding:
“My job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”
Watch It:
So Mitt Romney seems to be equating worth with income taxes? Since Romney pays just 13% of his income in federal income taxes, his worth as a person is less than his secretary or housekeepers who pay 18%-to-20% of their income in federal income taxes. Noted.
This video is truly a frightening insight into the minds and beliefs of the 1%.
These are people who are first in line for a new heart when the heart they were born with is ruined from years of abuse. Does anyone come to mind? What’s that? Dick Cheney? Yes sir, the Big Dick spent just 18 months on the donor list before getting the heart of a 16-year old boy.
A Romney presidency would be great unless you’re poor, gay, Mexican, Black, a woman, a student or a dog.
Romney claims almost half the American population pays no taxes. The part of his statement that is true refers to the approximately one-third of those who are retired people living on Social Security and/or pensions. The remaining one-third are students or disabled Americans including veterans.
The remaining one-third are those who are lower-middle class and working poor pay Social Security taxes.
Everyone who shops, whether for food, gasoline, new clothes and medicine, pay some combination of sales tax on those items.
Romney pays 13.9% of income taxes and probably no Social Security taxes.
It’s long-past time for the mainstream media to take Romney to task for making such outrageously erroneous comments. The mainstream media consistently lets him (and Paul Ryan) get away with these types of comments, which don’t even qualify as half-truths.
Arguably the worst presidential candidate the GOP has selected to be their standard bearer.
This is a spectacular video and one that illuminates Romney’s agenda.
He admits to the American electorate that he has no interest in becoming everyone’s president but only people who pay taxes and who are self-sufficient.
For those Americans retired, disabled, mentally and physically challenged, Romney isn’t interested in them. They are burden; a nuisance; a bother. Romney is a ghoul. Case closed.
Rafalca is dependent on people for food, water and shelter. Is this why he’s rumored to be headed to a slaughterhouse in Japan to become food for rich Japanese?

Seriously, can it get any worse for Mitt Romney? There are only 48 days left until election day.
Rachel – I think this is just the beginning of Mitt’s horror. Wait for the debates! 🙂
Best line of the day heard on MSNBC:
“Mitt Romney looks like the kid who lost lunch money. He’s totally dejected.”
The thing I can’t understand is, the very people Willard Romney keeps insulting and marginalizing, the poor and elderly in Red State America, the Honey-Boo-Boo people, still intend to vote for him in November?
It’s like I want to stand on top of Dollywood’s tallest roller coaster an shout, “Wake Up!”
Interesting video. Romney said 47% of Obama voters deserve food and housing from the government which is unacceptable. But, it’s acceptable for the people who pay federal taxes subsidize his 13.9% tax rate? Talk about a double standard.
There is no way Romney can get out of this. He’s not that good of a politician to spin his way out of this bandini stink hole.
I think this is the day the Romney campaign died.
As Willard doubled down today insisting this is the message he plans to run on all the way to election day, by contrast, this is what White House Press Secretary James said today:
“When you’re president of the United States, you’re president of all the people — not just the people who voted for you.”
Still not sure who you’re voting for on Nov. 6th, 2012?
We have former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson for this video. This video may turn out to be the most important political video in a generation.
To say this video is a game changer would be an understatement. I think Mitt Romney’s campaign is effectively over. He will lose his race by huge margins and the scope of his loses will surprise political pundits who have forecast his loss since the beginning. Romney is like the Phantom of the Opera. He pulled his mask off and everyone cringed.
Romney’s “Macaca moment” arrived so late in the year as to render the campaign DOA.
The intellectual leaders of the Republican party made a serious mistake not putting a stop to this long before Romney became their 2012 candidate.
For the GOP, they know they’re stuck with an effete snob. He doesn’t have a chance to be elected.
