Mike Huckabee Says Good Things Come from Rape

Tuesday, August, 21, 2012

In the wake of Rep. Todd Akin’s (R-MO) appalling remarks about “legitimate rape” Mike Huckabee used his syndicated, rightwing radio program Monday to give the embattled candidate a safe venue to express remorse and us that while rapes are “horrible tragedies,” the crimes had produced many admirable human beings.

A longtime supporter of Todd Akin, Huckabee reeled off a litany of accomplished Americans born of rape:

“Ethel Waters, for example, was the result of a forcible rape. I used to work for James Robison back in the 1970s, he leads a large Christian organization. He was the result of a forcible rape. And so I know it happens, [but] life has come and sometimes, you know, those people are able to do extraordinary things.”

Gee, thanks Mike. I don’t know what all the hoopla is about. I guess rape isn’t so bad after all.

  1. Rachel says:

Huckabee is every bit as disgusting as Todd Akin. With this analysis, Huckabee threw every victim of rape that took place throughout all of history under the bus. Rape is good, damn it and women should welcome it. Fuck you, Huckabee.

  3. Zarathustra says:

Bend over Mike…… let’s test your hypothesis with a tree limb…..

  4. Zarathustra says:

Huckabee, your mother was raped, and she gave birth to a piece of SHIT!…….. You

  5. The Real Adam says:

So using Huckabee’s logic, maybe men should begin raping women regularly?

After all, the progeny of their crime may go on to cure cancer and diabetes, discover a safe, non polluting, renewable energy and decipher the challenge of Warp Drive?

  6. Brigadoon says:

The South and the Midwest breeds the biggest idiots. It must be a combination of the Bible and the water.

  7. Mike Huckabee is a particularly odorous, flat-earth Bible thumper. I blogged about his dog killer son back in 2011. Here’s a link to the piece if anyone needs a refresher about the Huckabee family values.

With speculation swirling around flat earth darling and FOX Noise oddity, Mike Huckabee, is he planning to run for president, I thought this would be a good time to revisit the disturbing story of how the one-time governor of Arkansas handled a very sensitive family matter: allegations that one of his sons was directly involved in the hanging of a stray dog at a Boy Scout camp back in 1998.

    Mike Huckabee: COCKPUNCH
    Todd Akin: COCKPUNCH

  9. Harry says:

    Huckabee is a loathsome son-of-bitch.

    What Rachael said.

  11. Marcus Ybanez says:

These views are dangerous and only espoused by the radical right and the pro-life movement.

Remember, Rep. Paul Ryan, Romney’s running mate, co-sponsored the personhood bill which tried to define “life” as the “moment of conception.” The bill failed but had it passed, any abortion would amount to murder and the health provider could be prosecuted with First Degree murder.

  12. ajihani says:

The war on women continues unabated. Unbelievable.

  13. Zarathustra says:

Suckabee…. what a dumb Mother-forker…… I pray to his invisible ghod that his wife and daughters, if he has any, will reap some of the benifits of a ”good” Rape…….

  14. DMason says:

Huckabee is a douche. No wonder he’s found safe harbor at FOX News? They all speak the same language in Rupertville.

  15. Insouciant says:

    Oy vey. Oy vey.

  16. Estacada says:

    Here’s the real pisser.

The vast majority of people in Missouri who think Akin is 100% correct and they plan to vote for him in November. Missouri is more radically flat earth than Texas, Utah or South Carolina. As for Mike Huckabee, I hope he chokes on a Twinkie.

  17. Jim says:

    What a nauseating fucking pig.

  18. Randy Arroyo says:

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Mike Huckabee a Baptist minister? Where is his humanity? Did he forget his Theology college courses? I guess he’s put political ideology over humanity.

  19. fran says:

Well then I guess both Akin AND Huckabee can get “Neanderthal, knuckle draggers of the Year” certificates.
There is no excuse, rescinding, explaining, justification for this mindset.
I seriously wonder what Akin’s “legitimate rape” history is. … is he a rapist or has he been raped?
Because somehow, he is able to justify some rape as being “OK”.
Like back in the dark days when a woman was raped, and would be asked in court what SHE was wearing, or what SHE did to provoke sexual assault. Traumatizing the victim again– and placing the blame on the person who was assaulted– so much so, many rapes STILL to this day go unreported, because victims can’t handle additional trauma.
As for Huckabee’s ” forcible rape success stories”…. what a sick bastard.
They want to put lipstick on this pig, and find a silver lining to rape?

  20. Seabec says:

Huckabee was never the brightest bulb in the box.

  21. woyoyo says:

These clowns are an embarrassment to America. I wonder what the rest of the civilized world thinks when they see quotes from Todd Akin or Mike Huckabee? I know what I think. What happened to the years from 1000 to 2000? All erased and forgotten.

  22. Abigail says:

Hey, it’s Missouri. Sorry to offend anyone here who hails from the Show me State, but I grew near Hannibal, Mo. Mark Twain Country. The rednecks in that state make Alabama rednecks look like boy scouts. Lots of racism, hate, small mindedness. But hey, that’s where Rush Limpballs is from, so that says a lot right there!

  23. Chad Lebanon says:

Have you ever driven through St. Joseph, MO? The main freeway passes through the center of St. Joseph. On each side of the road is a church with a sign out front admonishing women of ending their pregnancy. In between each church is an adult book store or titty palace.

This is what you see in St. Joseph, MO.
