Zombie-Proof Condos Completely Sold Out

Thursday, May 31, 2012

If you’re worried about recent news reports of flesh-eating Zombies terrorizing Miami or just want to buy a place in the U.S. to safely survive the post-apocalypse then, this condo development is designed with you in mind.

Only problem is, it’s completely sold-out.

Listed for a cool $2 million, 1,820-square-foot condos-in-the-ground will provide you access to off-the-grid-electricity via solar panels and wind turbines, epoxy-hardened walls protecting you from nuclear attack, and with state-of-the-art stainless steel GE appliances, pleasing Kohler bath fixtures and a Jacuzzi, not mention a full-sized pool, spa, fitness room, library and movie theater.

You’ll be able to dine on a diet of organic produce and homegrown fish fresh from the development’s high-tech hydroponic and aquaculture center.

Best of all, if the Zombified masses should beat at the door, never fear. Developer Larry Hall, a former software engineer, promises his condos have a military-grade security system equipped with both lethal and non-lethal defense capabilities.

Why did Hall want to turn this 174-foot-deep hole into condos? Hall told Mother Nature Network:

“To have a safe place for the increasing number of threats that are occurring from possible threats such as global climate change, terrorism, economic collapse, the solar cycle and possible loss of the power grid, pandemics, civil unrest and food shortages.”

And Zombie attacks.

    Bunk or Bunker, you decide.

  2. Joe in Colorado says:

No effing way? Are people really so worried about the government’s ability to protect them from a disaster that they’re willing to fork over $2 million to live in a concrete hole in the ground?

  3. TOM339 says:

I have better things to drop $2 million on than a survivalist condo.

But to Joe in Colorado’s post, yes, I think confidence in the government is at an all-time low. Selling these condos appeals to buyers who think in the near future, our government will break down and cease to exist at all, leaving us on our own to survive.

If that were to happen, I would take my family into the hills of rural Virginia. We would try to make it on our own and I think we would do pretty darn well.

  4. Rachel says:

In the post-apocalypse market, what will the re-sale value of these condos be?

  5. Seabec says:

Rachel – I think if the world reaches this point of decline, expect to spend the remainder of your life underground, hoping not to die from radiation sickness.

  6. DMason says:

I don’t know if I want to live in a missile silo in the ground for the rest of my life. If the government collapses or zombies take over humanity, I’ll take my chances living in the wild, with a rifle, my dog and a compass. After all, I was a boy scout. Beside, I don’t have $2 million laying around.

  7. Randy Arroyo says:

I’m with you, David. If this is the future, I’ll take my chances. I have a grandfather in rural Mexico who I will move in with. He’s a mean son-of-a-bitch and won’t put up with zombies.

  8. feminazi says:

All of the recent news reports about zombies attacking and eating humans is really tragic cases of drug abuse. Let these be a cautionary tale about the importance of not cutting funding to drug abuse programs.
