Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL), speaking at a town hall meeting, said President Obama was only elected president because he’s an African-American.
“He’s our first African-American president. The country voted for him because of that. It made us feel good about ourselves.”
He next went after Sen. John McCain:
“It helped that John McCain was about 142 years old.”
Walsh, you may recall, was in the news for being a deadbeat father who refused to pay his child support to his ex-wife Laura, who accused him of owing more than $117,000. The case was eventually settled.
