In a selfless act of heroism, Newark Mayor Cory Booker saved a neighbor’s life by bolting through raging flames and falling embers to pulling her from a smoke-choked bedroom Thursday night.
Can you imagine NJ Gov. Fatso, AKA, Chris Christie doing this? Especially, without a helicopter and a baker’s dozen from Krispy Kreme?
Booker, widely seen as a rising star in the Democratic party, appeared today with second-degree burns on his right hand, confessed Friday that he thought death was imminent in the seconds before he rescued Zina Hodge from the inferno.
“At that point, I didn’t feel bravery — I felt terror,” the 42-year-old mayor said at a news conference. “It was a moment I felt very religious, put it that way.
“I had a conversation with God I never had before,” Booker continued. “I feel very blessed.”
