The National Weather Service reported at least two separate “large and extremely dangerous” tornadoes touched down in the Dallas and Fort Worth metro areas.
Several huge semi trucks were seen being thrown into the air like toys.
The Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) International Airport was closed to all incoming and outgoing flights. DFW — the nation’s fourth busiest, handles 1,750 flights a day.
Further complicating airline traffic in Dallas, American Airlines reported they are grounding as many as sixty airliners to inspect the planes for possible hail damage to wings and tail sections.
Damage was also reported at Six Flags Over Texas Amusement Park in Arlington.
