A Denver solicited votes from Broncos fans for their favorite quarterback

Is legendary quarterback Peyton Manning about to sign with the Denver Broncos this weekend? It looks like a very real possibility.

From CBSDenver:

The Denver Broncos want Peyton Manning to sign a contract with the team this weekend before he even visits with other teams who are interested in him.

The legendary quarterback who was cut by the Indianapolis Colts earlier this week met with Denver Broncos executive John Elway and head coach John Fox to discuss the potential of signing with the team.

A plane carrying Manning and Elway landed at Centennial Airport at about 1:30 p.m. Friday. From there, an SUV took them to Broncos Headquarters and Training Facility Dove Valley where their meeting continued for another five hours.

They mainly discussed the offense and the fact that they are more than willing to turn it over to Manning.

Where would this leave the Broncos highly controversial QB Tim Tebow? His future is in doubt in Denver and the reports say if the Broncos were able to land Manning they would make an attempt to trade Tim Tebow.

Tim Tebow’s pass completion rate is among the lowest in the league. He’s a young, strong man but often looks distracted on the field. Plus, as you point out, Tebow is controversial and the image of him on the sidelines praying puts many people off. This is football, not Sunday morning prayer time.

  2. Joe in Colorado says:

Peyton Manning would be a great addition to the Broncos. I’ve read Elway is under pressure from the Broncos organization to replace Tebow with a QB who can deliver wins. Tebow is a marquee player but he isn’t a winning player. As a Denver resident and Broncos fan, I hope we see Manning next September.

Now is the time for Teabone to get down on his knees to pray………… That he finds another job somewhere on this continent…..

  4. Sayingwhatneedsaying says:

Since he like being on his knees so much…… perhaps he can get a job as a gardener, PLUCKING weeds……………..

  5. Brigadoon says:

The New York Giants expressed interest in Manning too but they resigned Mark Sanchez. Manning is a great match for Denver. I hope it happens and Tebow is kicked to the curb of the nearest church.

  6. Pechanga says:

The Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals want Peyton Manning too.

Personally, I hope we see Manning in Denver. They’re a good team and deserve a better QB than Tim Tebow.

  7. hipolito says:

I can’t think about football. Summer hasn’t even arrived yet.

  8. Rachel says:

Peyton Manning has a great arm. I hope the Broncos sign him. As for Tebow, let him play for the Cowboys. It’s a cultural match.

  9. One Fly says:

Why would the non-existent Cloud Being do this to one who believes soooooo much and sooooo hard and long and often. What a bunch of pure hog shit. Fuck the Donks. Put Kubiak in.

  10. Jim says:

Mercifully, they should be rid of the “great” Tebow.

  11. Unconditional1 says:

If prayers and “Hail Mary’s” were answered, the Donks would not be looking to hand the ball over to Manning.

  12. Harry says:

    Tebow=Closet Case.

  13. Arizona Leatherneck says:

Manning is a rare breed in the NFL: plays well, strong leader, healthy classy on and off the field, generous with his money, nice to fans.

If John Elway fucks this up he will be the most maligned guy in Denver.

  14. The biggest problem with Tebow is he lifts weight for strength. What looks great in front of a mirror doesn’t exactly help out with a quarterback’s throwing motion. I’ve read from more than one source this is what’s going on with him. It’s more than his mechanics.

I hear Jacksonville is interested in Tebow, but I’m sure it has more to do with selling tickets than performance.

  15. Blu Manzur says:

Jacksonville is Tebow country. It’s a match made in heaven. Hehehe.

  16. Matteo says:

You reported this two days ago. Great catch. If Manning is signed, Tebow is history.

  17. Roberto from CT says:

Quite a bunch of a-holes go to this site. Saying derogatory & even nefarious things about a wonderful Christian, whom u evidently do not know is wrong = u should’nt do it. A feckless bunch at best. 1 fellow, R.J., shows some wit with his “mechanics” eval. of Tim’s throwing deficiency. I love Tim & so want him to do well in the NFL & in all of his life. I think if he goes to another team & gets the right coaching, he can become a great Q.B.. U all could do America a big favor & emulate Tim; I wish.

  18. gared says:

Want to watch the same film..? Then Manning. Want to watch something new..? Then Tebow. It’s really up to what you’re up to. Same fun or true excitement. It’s up to you.

  19. Tebow Out? Manning Reported to Broncos….Just image, if only we got that excited about ” God ” as we do football teams and the billions of dollars we put into the game we could feed, shelter and do so much for God’s glory.

  20. Jeneva says:

As I’m sure you’re aware, the plural of anecdote is not ࢢdata.⁚ Note that at your kids’ school, they called the POLICE, not a posse of rednecks, doomsday preppers, and unhinged 20-year-olds. No one is objecting to police officers carrying guns.
