Dumb-Ass Game Show Host Chuck Woolery Says Gays and Blacks Don’t Need Civil Rights

Saturday, February 11, 2012

Dumb-ass game show host, Chuck Woolery, best known for hosting such TV pablum as Love Connection, Scrabble, and Lingo, is also a radical, rightwinger. Who knew?

Huffington Post caught up to Woolery at the CPAC convention on Friday where he expressed his views on civil rights. He slammed the recent Prop 8 court ruling which determined the anti-marriage equality proposition was unconstitutional and said gays don’t need civil rights. In fact, he believes African-Americans need no civil rights.

“Majority rules. We were born with natural rights. We don’t need civil rights. African-Americans don’t need civil rights. They don’t need them. They have inalienable rights granted by God in the Constitution. I mean, I’m discriminated against all the time. I don’t care. It doesn’t bother me. I’m discriminated against because I’m old. I’m too old to get a job as a game show host. They say, well, the guy’s 71 and in five years he’ll be 76. And I’m a one per center, and I’m absolutely discriminated against as a one per center.”

Other rightwing Republican game show hosts include Wheel of Fortune’s Pat Sajak, Price is Right’s Drew Carey, and Jeopardy’s Alex Trebek.

  1. Brigadoon says:

Have you ever heard Chuck Woolery speak? He’s a moron who probably dropped out of junior high school.

  2. Estacada says:

People like this should be targeted for boycott.

I bet few know Chuck Woolery, Drew Carey and Pat Sajak are wingers. They don’t belong on TV and they certainly don’t deserve their multimillion dollar salaries.

  3. Tiny Dancer says:

    Woolery is a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal.

  4. Big Hank says:

    Chuck Woolery is still alive?

  5. joe scalise says:

I feel sorry for the a$$hole.

  6. mdmbl says:

Very troubling indeed. As a healthcare provider, I see on a daily basis the economic and emotional issues women — especially poor women, face from lack of access to safe contraception. I long ago concluded President Obama does not lead from an inner core of strength but from sticking his finger in the wind to see which way the political winds are blowing. As a college educated, professional woman, I am appalled by Obama’s “Hawaii compromise.” He just keeps disappointing me. I mean, can you imagine Hillary Clinton folding her hand the way President Obama folded his? Not likely.

  7. Sayingwhatneedsaying says:

    Another… Dumb, mother-f**king christian asshole………….

  9. R.J. says:

Apparently this douche nozzle doesn’t need a brain.

  10. fran says:

    all together now: Awwwwwwwwwwww
Poor Chuck is discriminated against as an old 1%.
    Effing Pity, Eh?

MLK jr is probably turning in his grave– Didn’t need civil rights?
Woolery lived during the 60’s civil rights movement.
I guess he must have lived in a sheltered life w blinders.

Maybe he does not support same sex marriage because he is on his FOURTH WIFE!
He needs to keep the field open??

    Margaret Hayes (1961–71)
    Jo Ann Pflug (1972–80)
    Teri Nelson (1985–2004)
    Kim Barnes (2006— )

  11. Insouciant says:

He’s a douchebag from Arkansas. What do you expect?

  12. Arizona Leatherneck says:

I think I understand what he’s trying to say but the sloppy way Woolery expressed it makes him sound like a country club conservative — which he is.

People like Chuck Woolery need to zip it before they hang themselves.

  13. Frank Adams says:

I would not put Drew Carey in the same category as Sajak and Woolery. Carey had the guts to get off the Bush bandwagon when it was clear that a boy was sent to do a man’s job. He is right of center but not some neo con jerk

  14. Reality Bites says:

Chuck is clearly articulating that ” We don’t need the “Governments Approval” for something that we all share, guaranteed by the US Constitution; Equlity and the Right to the Pursuit of Happiness -Our God given rights as Americans and the human race.
It’s an concept, not reality. Special legislation and political pandering will not change history and the reality that we live in.
Chuck is not diminishing the history of oppression, discrimination and inequality that exist in reality. The assumption that his comments are degrading to any minority, because he’s a white conservative are a misinterpretation of his honorable intentions.

  15. savvycowboy says:

You leftists are communists/facsists/morons. ‘Nuff said!

  16. Do you even understand what he said. I doubt it because of your answers.

  17. Jonathan says:

Jo Ann Pflug left him for a black man, anyone know?

  18. Amanda says:

OK do people misunderstand on purpose or is it because he said God that your brains just melted on the defense, because God makes you mad.. He only stated that noone should need special rights, because he believes everyone is equal.. And its a sad thing that the statement was made that Christians don’t deserve to have money.. Wow thank you for putting your unbelief as being a payable thing. I sure hope you are a happy well balanced individual who doesn’t have any issues other then a short temper and perhaps a view that’s misconstrued.

  19. Amanda says:

I do believe Jesus said it best, let he who is with out sin cast the first stone.. And you know if you want to dog on presidents let’s focus on the fact Obama has family who are terrorists. Guess that’s acceptable

  20. Tamica Shummer says:

All you liberal garbage mouths are talking out of your aaaassss, your twisting his words all you moron idiot libs…….

  21. james says:

    What a bunch of idiots

  22. james says:

If people would lean what the constitution says and mean then you would know that all men in this nation are guaranteed certain rights and they were given by God first then again by the magna carts. This does not give gays the right to force their ways on the rest of man. They are about twelve percent of the population but they scream like a majority. I don’t think they have any rights and if you believe in the bible then they don’t have a leg to stand on

  23. gmcmi says:

I love Chuck Wooldry! He speaks the truth and is a wonderful ,an. Those who make ugly commenta are simply horrible, ugly sub human people. I always wonder why God put these ugly non humans on the earth that should have been aborted.

  24. Antfitz says:

Not surprised. I believe he is discriminated against about his age. You would think that would make him more understanding not less. But he has held these kind of beliefs his whole life. Merv Griffin was an Ardent Republican and he hired Chuck Woolery, Alex Trebek, and Pat Sajak — all right-wingers.
Remember, this is a guy who married his best friend’s daughter. Creepy.

  25. Ta says:

Leave it to Dumbass liberals to twist s*** anyway they can.

  26. Trent Barnes says:

Woke and do t even know what Memorial Day is
No sympathy for people are are all about me🥲
