At least seven people have been killed and 51 injured in a horror crash on the UK’s M5 freeway. The crash is said to be among the worst British history.
Police said the death toll is expected to rise as the recovery operation continues.
A massive 34 vehicle pile-up which happened in wet and foggy conditions and was described by emergency responders as “the worst road traffic collision anyone can remember.”
Dramatic television footage of the aftermath showed vehicles literally melted into the road in a scene resembling a war zone. Some victims were believed to have burned to death trapped in the carnage as orange flames leapt into the sky.
The crash occurred at the mid-point between Exeter and Bristol near the city of Taunton.
