I once saw a family burn to death on I-15 near Rainbow. I slowed down intending to offer help but once I stopped and saw the inside of the van I knew it was too late to help them. I drove away with a sick feeling in my stomach.

Have you ever driven in Britain? I have and it was like being surrounded by Road Warriors.

People speed, change lanes erratically, and there are far too many motorcycles mixed in with cars and trucks. I imagine no one slows down when it rains or fog creates white out conditions which the cops surmised contributed to the crash. Nonetheless, an awful tragedy.

Thanks for covering it. All I see on American news is coverage of Andy Rooney’s death.

  3. Nigel Karsten says:

This region in Somerset is quite hilly and fog builds up very quickly and densely on the M5. The are is very populous and the roads often jammed with drivers and lorries coming from port. We Brits are known for driving too fast — much above the posted speed maximum and when fog is added to the equation, crashes like this occur. For reasons I don’t understand, police rarely ticket speeding drivers in the UK, fostering a belief the roadways are the Indy 500. I usually drive at posted speed and I am left in the dust by speeding drivers who seem to have a death wish.
