In a resounding repudiation of Sarah Palin, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords declares in the new memoir, Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope, “I will get stronger. I will return.”
The book is written by Giffords’ husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, and details the excruciating effort Giffords has taken over the past 10 months to relearn how to walk and talk and her emotionally painful discovery that six people were killed in the Jan. 8 attack outside a Tucson, AZ grocery store.
Associated Press purchased an advance copy of the book. It is set for release Nov. 15.
Giffords delivers the last chapter; a single page of short sentences and phrases called “Gabby’s Voice” in which she says her goal is to get back to Congress.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had placed Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in a firearms cross hairs map, targeting her for removal.
Giffords reportedly found the map disturbing. After the shootings, Kelly expressed his feelings about the cross hairs map to President Barack Obama. Kelly naively thought Palin might call to offer her condolences but, she never did.

Giffords survived and thrived.
I am not one to toss out the word “miracle” but she seems to be anointed. I wish her all the best and I hope she regains 100% of her motor and speaking skills. As for Palin, well, if you believe in the Law of Karma, once day, she’s going to have a building collapse on her.
Palin took her infamous crosshairs map down within 30 minutes of Gabby Giffords shooting. I am so pleased bloggers like you, Christopher, grabbed quick, quick, quick and posted it to reminds people what a pig Palin is and how dangerous.
Hang tough, Gabby. You will get better and you will return to Congress.
There was a rumor that Jared Loughner had a picture of Sarah Palin on his bedroom wall.
The Tucson police confiscated it in the course of their investigation. I heard this in the days after the Tucson carnage and never heard another thing about it. Palin definitely brings out, and inspires the lunatics. She’s an evil menace.
Gabrielle Giffords is a strong, brave, intelligent woman who walks in grace. By contrast, Sarah Palin is a cunt.
Of course she will. If Gabby were not to return, she would not be inhabiting this physical reality in a homo sapiens container. People like Sarah Palin spout infant drivel that has no substance. Gabby G. serves as a pinnacle of human resolve…a bastion of innocence that is ripped from its reality. The Palin’s of the world piss, puke, and poop into the Immaculate diaper of Unconditional Love with the impunity of an infant, with no regard for the messy clean up.
The reality is that Mother Nature does not do her or anyone’s diapers for them, they will wash, press, fold and put them away themselves. Happy karmic laundering Sarah…
Gabrielle Giffords is an accidental American hero. Thanks to and because of terrible circumstances foisted upon her, she became a role model for young girls and for people struggling with disabilities. Giffords is respected and admired. She will always enjoys our good will.
Giffords chief-of-staff was a gay man. She adored him and he adored her.
In a state that has swayed more and more to the right, Gabby Giffords was a breath of reason and fresh air. She must heal and return to the congress. I believe she will and the people of Arizona will welcome her with open arms like a returning warrior. Which, in a way, she is.
