Herman Cain: ‘I could not support Rick Perry’

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

I just love the sound and the smell of Republican cannibalism.

In the wake of Gov. Rick Perry’s dreadful debate performance last week in Orlando, the Godfather of pizza, Herman Cain, made this stunning proclamation.

Speaking to CNN, the Republican presidential candidate said he could not support Rick Perry if he is the Republican nominee for president, citing a “basic fundamental difference of opinion” on border security.

“Him being soft on securing the border is one of the reasons. I feel very strongly about the need to secure the border for real, the need to enforce the laws that are already there, the need to promote the path to citizenship that’s already there.”

Cain, who supported Mitt Romney in 2008, said he could support the Romney again if he committed to repeal Obamacare soon after taking office:

“If he stuck to that commitment, I could support him. But if in any way he wanted to compromise and go for a mandate, I couldn’t support him. But I believe that he has backed off that and he’s saying that he would repeal Obamacare.”

    ROFL! Sweet.

  2. Pechanga says:

Move to Dallas or Houston and try to enroll your kid(s) in state university and you will pay the out of state tuition rate. You must establish legal residence for a year to receive the discounted tuition.

However, the children of illegal immigrants receive the in-state tuition, saving tens-of-thousands of dollars. This just isn’t fair but this is how Rick Perry views the world. No wonder Herman Cain turned on Perry. Many conservatives, after learning this factoid have decided Perry is the wrong man for the job of president.

  3. Adirondacky says:

Let’s see if Cain flip-flops and is kissing Perry’s ass in, oh, how about 2 weeks? I don’t trust any of the Republicans running for president. They’re the least trustworthy crowd of freaks I’ve ever seen.

  4. Joe in Colorado says:

Cain doesn’t have a chance in a General Election. The racists are out in force this time around and they intend to right the ship and kick all vestiges of color out of the White House. Obama was all the “color” they will allow.

  5. STEEL TOE says:

If your goal is to elect African Americans, then Herman Cain is far more qualified than Barack Obama to be president.

  6. Rachel says:

Cain knows something about business and creating jobs. No wonder he won the Florida straw poll and is growing in popularity among possible voters. I don’t see him being the nominee but if Romney wins and goes onto to be president, maybe Romney will ask him to serve in a vital cabinet position like Labor or as an economic advisor. He’s certainly smarter than Timmy Geithner.
