Three gay Iranian men were hanged to death for violating Sharia Islamic law.
According to the Iranian Student News Agency and the UK Independent, the three gay male victims of Sharia law men were put to death at the end of a rope Sunday morning at Karoun prison in the southwestern city of Ahvaz, Iran. Cleric Abdolhamid Amanat made the announcement.
The prosecutor’s office said the three were sentenced for “lavat”, the phrase used in Islamic law for sodomy. The full names of the victims were made available only their initials: M.T, T.T and M.Ch.
Iran’s interpretation of Sharia law referred to as Section 108 reads acts of sodomy are punishable by “lavat” for death. Sharia is the most radical and conservative practice of Islam.
I have a suggestion for President Obama. Since he directed the U.S. military to bomb Tripoli to try and oust Libya of dictator Muammar Gaddafi, how about taking military action against the anti-gay, anti-U.S. and anti-Israel Sharia clerics who run Iran?
As a gay American, this is military action I can readily support.
