The Unbearable Spectacle of President Obama

Thursday, September 1, 2011

President Obama will address a Joint Session of Congress on Sept. 8 to lay out his plan for jobs and the economy, the White House announced late Wednesday night.

The date is one day later than the day Mr. Obama had requested earlier Wednesday because the original date conflicted with an all-important debate of Republican presidential candidates at the Reagan Library in California to be carried on MSNBC.

House Speaker John Boehner objected to Mr. Obama’s original date suggesting that Obama come to Capitol Hill on Thursday night, a day later and Mr. Obama being the spineless jellyfish he is, agreed to Boehner’s request.

Got that? The House Speaker is now President Obama’s puppet master. Boehner tells Obama to jump and Obama asks, “How high, Massa John.” No wonder Boehner was able to confidently proclaim after the recent budget battle, “We got 98% of what we wanted from this president.”

Seriously folks, I have never in my life seen a more namby pamby, milquetoast excuse for a Commander in Chief. The unbearable spectacle of President Obama bowing to the Republican House Speaker has become too painful to watch.

I have lost all respect for Barack Obama. He is weak and lacks the necessary backbone and character to be president. In politics, leadership is rewarded and weakness is punished.

Mr. Obama will pay the ultimate price in the 2012 general election.

I agree. It’s now excruciating to watch Obama flail about. He’s like a fish out of water.

“Mr. Obama will pay the ultimate price in the 2012 general election.”

Wrong dear. We and the rest of the world will pay the price if he loses.

  3. Brigadoon says:

James Carville was right when he said Hillary could donate some balls to Barack Obama.

  4. Harry says:

The Wuss in the White House.

If you’re going to take the fight to your opponent’s turf, everyone knows you better be prepared to deliver and not rely on a bluff.

He’s the President of the United States but he folds to a cigarette smoking, booze drinking piece of crap from Ohio who cries at the sight of the leaves turning in the fall?

I have an idea for Mr. Obama. Why not push his jobs speech out again? Reschedule it to February 2013. He can give it in Lincoln Park in Chicago.

    The Pushover In Chief

  7. arnold kemp says:

I say go be a teabagger then. This was a date for a speech nothing more. He will get a bigger audience before the NFL game anyway.

  8. Rebar says:

It scares the hell out of me that ‘ROLLOVER’ OBAMA and ‘BOO HOO’ BONER are running this country!!!

  9. The Real Adam says:

Boehner and McConnell have been around Washington a long time.

Now they know Obama is a pushover, from slashing Medicare and Social Security, to changing the date of his jobs speech to protect the sanctity of a damn Republican debate. Obama is willing to cave everytime. Obama is the president but you would never know it. I agree, watching this clown is an embarrassment. I just want him to go away.

  10. Mets Fan says:

James Carville was right when he said Hillary could donate some balls to Barack Obama.

    ROFLMAO!

  11. Rachel says:

Nobody gets 98% of what they want in a negotiation. Not a surrendering nation, not a sports star, not a movie star and certainly, not a politician. When Boehner said this I nearly tossed my cookies. Why would Obama give John Boehner 98% of what the Tea Party/GOP wanted in the budget deal? This means the Democrats got 2% of what we wanted. Obama disgusts me.

  12. DMason says:

Too bad Obama has no moral fiber. He’s such a timid little fellow. Just for the record, I don’t plan to watch either the Republican debate or Obama’s jobs speech.

  13. Can anyone imagine Hillary Clinton bowing like this to the likes of John Boehner?

Or for that matter, Bush II, or Bill Clinton or Reagan? Obama’s deference to this Ohio nobody is pathetic. I have this mental image of Boehner sitting in his office with Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell and they’re all laughing to Obama for being such a total sissy.

I wish I could take back my 2008 vote but what’s done is done. But we can change course in 2012 which is precisely what I plan to do.

  14. Matteo says:

Obama needs to just cut it out. Every step he takes he manages to fuck himself further.

White House working to avoid clash with NFL’s opening game

In agreeing Wednesday to reschedule his planned address to a joint session of Congress, President Obama might have placated House Speaker John Boehner at the expense of the nation’s football fans.

Boehner, R-Ohio, balked at the president’s original request to appear before Congress to discuss the nation’s chronic unemployment problem on Wednesday, Sept. 7. That’s the same day as a Republican presidential debate in Simi Valley, Calif.

Obama agreed to move his speech to Thursday, Sept. 8, which happens to coincide with the opening game of the NFL regular season, a prime time contest between the New Orleans Saints and the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers from Lambeau Field.

The game will be televised by NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET.

“We’re aware of the situation and are communicating with the NFL,” an NBC spokesman told ProFootballTalk.com.

The Associated Press reported that White House officials were working on the precise timing of the speech in hopes of avoiding a conflict.

  15. Debbie Banuelos says:

Matteo – Obama is a fool. If you came up in the USA you know the last thing you ever want to do is piss off the NFL or football fans.

I’m beginning to wonder if Obama really didn’t come up in the USA? Maybe he grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia so all these time honored American, cultural traditions like the start of football season are alien to him?

All I know is, as an unscientific sampling, the people I work with said today they think Obama is a wimp for moving the jobs speech and not telling Boehner to “fuck off.” Obama is the laughing stock of America now.

  16. Show Queen says:

Save the bones for Henry Jones cuz Henry don’t eat no meat! Hehehehehehe!

  17. Jim says:

Please let it be over soon! So sorry I voted for this guy. I really thought he would be a leader, but I was soooooooo wrong.

  18. Gman23,

The second comment got you banned.

  19. Adirondacky says:

I saw the NBC nightly news (10,000 times better than cable news, BTW) and Brian Williams said economists predict unemployment to stay above 9% for all of 2012. These numbers aren’t what you want to take to the voter and ask, “Please vote for me for president.” Which goes back to the previous three years of Obama’s term. How could he be so tone deaf on jobs when the American people told the Obama administration it is jobs we care most about? Not national healthcare, not Libya and not the debt. Jobs. Now, the chickens have come home to roost and I believe Obama is in trouble.

  20. Estacada says:

    Oooo, someone got banned?

It must be the start of the election season if the trolls are climbing out from under their rocks to cause trouble. They never learn.

  21. Fran says:

What a state of affairs the government is in when scheduling a joint address to congress becomes front page news– Ooooh a schedule conflict w a GOP debate, then a conflict w the NFL opener.

I mean really. This is news?
Will people drink beer & watch sports or listen to the President?
Maybe he can do a halftime show???

I’ll pick a theme song– I can’t get no satisfaction

  22. JollyRoger says:

A spineless Executive, and a brainless Legislative.

Just frigging implode and get it the f__k over with.
