The Weather Channel has published a potential path map that paints an ominous picture for Hurricane Irene’s direction hitting the East Coast this weekend. The latest computer model guidance confirms the threat and the first hurricane watches have been issued for the United States.

Traveling along the I-95 corridor, the potential is real for the strongest hurricane hit on the Northeast in at least a couple decades this weekend!

I am worried about Hurricane Irene. Usually, I pay no mind to such things but Connecticut is broke and we have to money to open relief centers in the event our towns lose power for any extended length of time. Our local weather reports say Irene is headed straight for us. My house is old, like me, and I haven’t had the roof fixed in 20 years. My kids are in Virginia near Washington DC. Bullseye for the path of the hurricane.

Feminazi – You should board a flight to Chicago. Just get as far away from Connecticut as possible until this monster passes and you can return home safely. No reason to remain in Irene’s path and risk bodily injury.

I’ll take our earthquake risk any day over a hurricane.

I’m crazy but say bring it on Irene.. I spit in it’s eye. At least my insurance will pay for my demise if it happens. Screw Irene and which ever ways she blows.

Jersey has no money either thanks to Christie and the the Xanadu Project. All that shit will be flying all over the state. Hopefully, she will go out to sea and not hit land.

I work in the travel industry…. you can imagine how nucking futz it has been, and the latest news is NY airports are shutting down all airports & public transportation @ noon today (Sat.).
Whoah! Things are just going to be crazy for a while. The good news is Irene is slowing down to 85 mph/cat 1, but still 85 mph can do a lot of damage. But she is losing strength, and will lessen damage.
