Obama’s 50th Birthday Bash is a Shakedown

Thursday, July 14, 2011

On August 3rd, the date President Obama threatened to withhold the Social Security checks of seniors and the disabled if he doesn’t get his way in the debt talks, Dear Leader will jet off to Chicago to celebrate his 50th birthday.

The elitist shindig will also serve as a fundraiser at the Aragon Ballroom, with tickets ranging from $50 a person to $35,800 per couple. The top ticket price will include VIP seating at a “Birthday Concert” where celebrities will perform and you get the chance to have dinner with the president.

Obama’s birthday fundraiser at the Aragon will be one of the biggest third quarter fundraising event, and is expected to draw national supporters, if there are any.

$35,800 is about three years of Social Security benefits for the average recipient.

Huh? Are you implying there are no supporters for Obama? Oh, large mistake, big error! I’ll send $35,800 myself – even though I won’t attend – just because Obama’s the best hope for America.

  3. Albert Lewis,

If you had $35,800 you wouldn’t need to post your CV on my blog. BTW, try Monster.com, Career Builder or LinkedIn.

  4. Mets Fan says:

You really have to wonder why Obama can’t see the optics here?

Well, they say the longer you are in Washington, the more out of touch you become. This is certainly true for Obama.

Is that the day his “Slave Master” told him was his birthday? Happy birthday Ni&&ER!!!!

  6. Joe in Colorado says:

I’ve read several articles claiming Obama 2012 will reach $1 billion in fundraising money. I don’t know if I believe it. Not in this economy and not with his growing unpopularity. What do you guys think? Will Obama 2012 reach $1 billion in campaign donations?

  7. Peace Nick says:

Joe in Colorado – I don’t believe it either. By floating a $1 billion dollar campaign haul figure out there, it discourages others in the Democratic party who might want to challenge Obama in 2012. The thinking is, “How can I compete?”

If by some miracle Obama reaches this amount, half of it will be corporate dollars.

  8. Peace Nick,

I agree 100%. The $1 billion figure won’t happen. Not today. Obama’s base of support is far smaller in 2012 than it was in 2008.

And as you point out, saying you will raise $1 billion dollars telegraphs to challengers, I’m untouchable.

  9. JollyRoger says:

It’s like I was saying today-he’ll have national supporters. Because every time Michele or Guv Goodhair get some air time, people have to shake turds out of their pant legs.

I really wish that all of us, right now, would realize that we CAN choose something other than an ineffectual stooge or a foamy-mouthed lunatic.

  10. Idaho Librul says:

We were so thrilled about Barack Obama three short years ago and now, he’s like a pimple on our collective chins before the Christmas card picture is taken at Sears.

I know it has been said before but Obama’s problem — at least his albatross problem is, the terrible U.S. jobs picture. With each passing month, more Americans lose their homes, marriages slip into divorce from financial stress, retirement plans are shredded and bankruptcy skyrockets.

Obama isn’t stupid but he’s arrogant. He refuses to embrace the Bill Clinton Doctrine which is simply, “It’s the Economy, Stupid.” Someone needs to tattoo “It’s the Economy, Stupid” across Obama’s forehead so that he’s forced to see it and the meaning of those four words sink in.

I don’t think Obama will be back for another term. It has nothing to do with the race card. After all, we elected him in the first place, right? It’s jobs. Americans are even relocating to China and India now in order to find work. If you don’t believe me, read yesterday’s USA Today.

November 2012 is just around the corner and I just don’t think Obama can turn his sinking ship around in time to not be defeated by Mitt Romney and that’s just a regular shame.

  11. Paul Haider says:

Chris, it would probably make sense to change your blog name to “From the Right” given the amount of Obama-bashing that you do. Your blog should become the property of Faux, uh, Fox News if they lose the ownership of Rupert Murdoch. I don’t think that it is an egregious crime for President Obama to raise money on his birthday; Christmas generates a lot of revenue for our country’s economy in spite of the fact that Jesus Christ was never born on December 25…if he born at all. Should we discontinue Christmas after the Obama fundraiser has been neutralized? There was a lot more money earned by Halliburton and Bush’s friends from the Iraq War than there ever will be on August 4 at the Aragon Ballroom; the birthday event won’t be a tragedy or a crime.

I Never knew ‘DOGS’ lived that long………………

  13. Paul Haider,

Well Paul, with something like 51 million blogs available to comment on, it would probably make sense for you to find one with a great pro-Obama slant and put down roots and if you’re really lucky, you might find one that yaps about Christmas and Jesus Christ, too.

  14. ajihani says:

The O-Trolls are on the march. I guess this is just the start of the pushback against any and all criticism of Obama’s miserable legacy.

  15. Robyn says:

If Obama can raise $1 billion for a re-election, then why can’t he do that to pay for a war? Social security? This is bullshit.

  16. Joe in Colorado says:

Three, two, one. Cue the Obamatrons. We won’t stand by and allow our Massa to be criticized or held responsible for his failures and when push comes to shove, it’s Bush fault. Right, Paul? Your Massa is above reproach. Right, Paul? Sheesh.

  17. Eric Equality Kuntz says:

Paul Haider – Are you suggesting that criticism of President Obama is tantamount to bigotry and is a hate crime?

    Please explain.

  18. Chertl Allison Campbell says:

To “Saywhatneedsaying”, you are an idiot and the reason why this country lags behind others with commonsense!! You are an ASS!

  19. Cheyll Allison Campbell, Louisville, KY says:

I am resending this as I made a mistake. Not only are you “saywhatneedsaying” an ignorant ASS but a dangerous part of this country that has reared its race baiting face since Obama won. I would say that you should be ashamed of yourself but you know no shame!! It is people like you that makes this country “third rate” in education and learning. Keep on being dumb and danerously ignorant. I hope it serves you as well as your Republican nominees are doing with their promoting ignorance so that people will not use their brains to realise these people are using you and not doing a damn thing for you and destroying the middle class (thier ultimate goal in life)!
