First Alien Encounter ‘Within Twenty Years’

Monday, June 27, 2011

Andrei Finkelstein, director of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Applied Astronomy Institute, offered this intriguing prediction: humanity will encounter alien civilizations  within the next two decades.

Finkelstein said:

“The genesis of life is as inevitable as the formation of atoms … Life exists on other planets and we will find it within 20 years. They may have different colour skin, but even we have that.”

Speaking at an international forum dedicated to the search for extraterrestrial life, Finkelstein said 10% of the known planets circling suns in the galaxy resemble Earth.

If water can be found there, then so can life, he said, adding that aliens would most likely resemble humans with two arms, two legs and a head.

The U.S. military will exploit them or corporate, America factories. I hope the aliens have good weapons or they will be colonized.

A few things…. who said aliens need water to survive?

Truth be known I feel surrounded by aliens now- between the GOP & the TSA !

  3. Randy Arroyo says:

Good point! Scientists assume life in whatever form if it’s extraterrestrial, needs water in order to live. This assumption completely rules out the possibility that life from a far away solar system doesn’t need water. Maybe water, as we know it and need it for life would be lethal for them? You know, Stephen Hawking wrote a piece that basically said humans need to stop sending out these signals into deep space. Hawking hypothesized what if a hostile alien species receives the message in a bottle and comes a calling? Interesting argument.

Within 20 years? I believe Bachmann is already campaigning in Iowa?

  5. Adirondacky says:

Truth be told, 98% of the Republican presidential field might very well be aliens. I have never seen a group as bizarre as this lot. But in all seriousness, when we do make first contact, I hope they’re friendly and we’re respectful of them. Sadly, our history doesn’t portend very good results.

  6. Nigel Karsten says:

Britain, France, Russia, Mexico and China, have released their government UFO data files for public consumption. For reasons unknown, the United States refuses to even acknowledge they have such files and will not say one way or another. Of course, you would have to be daft to not think the USA maintains UFO files.

  7. feminazi says:

I hope the aliens are friendly too. If they have the technology to reach earth, then I must assume they have powerful weapons capable of protecting themselves from hostility. If humans, mostly the USA and our military, gets aggressive, we may unleash a response from our new visitors worthy of a science fiction movie.
