Cenk Uygur to GOProud’s Christopher Barron: “Uh, you’re a dumbass”

Friday, December 31, 2010

I love Cenk Uygur. Besides being smart, and easy on the eyes, he’s fearless and he’s not afraid to call out conservatives on their bullshit.

In this video clip (originally broadcast on MSNBC Thursday, December 30, 2010), Cenk calls out GOProud’s Christopher Barron on his bullshit. The exchange went like this.

BARRON: “The conservative movement is absolutely welcoming to gay people.”

CENK: “Uh, you’re a dumbass.”

Cenk Uygur is awesome. He’s totally hot and he doesn’t back down. I’m a huge fan. Cenk, if you’re reading this post, I’m single. Contact Christopher and he will forward my contact information. GOProud’s Christopher Barron, where do these tools come from? He’s moron and clearly on the GOP payroll.

  2. Rachel says:

That’s the funniest and strangest exchange I’ve seen in a long time. I admit I am not familiar with GOProud. The whole concept of gay conservatives is right up there with Jewish Nazis or black KKK members. I guess you must have a deafening level of self-hatred to dance with these clowns. Fortunately, none of my myriad gay friends are conservatives. I’m with David, Cenk is hot and I love it when he goes after a wingtard. I didn’t know Cenk is on MSNBC now. He’s 1000 times better than Lawrence O’Donnell.

  3. Walk on Socks says:

I saw the interview yesterday. Cenk was on-fire.

Christopher Barron said something like, “When my partner and I sit down and eat dinner, we are concerned about the same things everyone else is concerned about.”

Of course, he didn’t mention gay marriage and the 1,300 federal rights heterosexuals get the second they say “I do,” that Barron and his partner don’t get like the right to convey one anothers Social Security upon death or state retirement benefits.

Barron is a dope and Cenk nailed him. I don’t know but my gut tells me that Christopher Barron is a fraud. He’s probably not even gay.

  4. Harry says:

Is Cenk Uygur Turkish? I could go for some Turkish oil wrestling with him.

  5. Marcus Ybanez says:

Are you sure Christopher Barron and Ann Coulter aren’t the same person?

Think about it. Put a cheap black, cocktail dress and blonde, straw-like wig on Barron and he’s a dead ringer for Tranny Annie. Just saying. 🙂

  6. Seabec says:

What comes across with Cenk is a confidence. He’s jocular but neither sexist or homophobic. He’s the essence of the modern man and I like it.

  7. Jolly Roger says:

You know….. maybe that dumbass IS C***ler.

  8. Peace Nick says:

I would be very happy is MSNBC let Tweety go and they hired Cenk to fill his time slot at 7PM.

He’s a good guy and a great addition to MSNBC.

BTW: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Drive safe and enjoy.

  9. libhomo says:

What’s wrong with the GOShame guy? Most of his face is completely expressionless when he talks.

  10. R.J. says:

I have a hunch this Christopher Barron isn’t gay.

  11. Jolly Roger says:

R.J., they are certainly, in the age of Rove, capable of planting someone like this jerk. I have a hard time believing Tammy Bruce is anything but a closet Jesusistani too.

  12. I don’t think Christopher Barron is gay, either.

He’s a plant. If he’s gay, and partnered, what is the name of his spouse and how is it no one has ever seen the two men together at any political event?

Barron is just a player in the GOP’s kabuki theater.

  13. Tim Waters says:

Yeah I saw it too and enjoyed it much.
I just wanted to stop by and say you have one of the best site out here and to wish you and yours a Happy New Year.. Yeah I know it’s really going to suck but that’s our job to report on it.

    not for nothing, i share some of the same values as chris barron; in favor of less government intrusion in our lives; stronger military;
capitalism (socialistically speaking of course), but i’m a far left liberal. there’s no doubt in my mind it’s possible to be a conservative who also happens to be gay. but, identifying as a gay conservative doesn’t make sense. rachel hit the nail on the head in saying it’s like being a jewish nazi. gay friends who liked mccain for president don’t talk so much about what a great guy he is anymore and certainly don’t align themselves with people who want us to go hide under a rock or just die. barron unnaturally defends the most virulent anti-gay people, who also happen to be in powerful positions. makes no sense. log cabin republicans make no sense either. if barron would just acknowledge that most of those on the republican side share an anti-gay sentiment and maybe he would like to change that; well that would give him a little more acceptance as a gay conservative. but to actually defend the far right is akin to an african american defending the KKK. doesn’t make any sense.

  15. Joe DeMarco says:

    Cenk,

Tonight you mentioned Glen Beck and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, I shutter to think of those two names in the same sentence.
Firstly, FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT WAS OUR GREATEST PRESIDENT— as far as I am concerned, you see, I am a World War Two veteran and I grew up during Roosevelts time in office.
Glen Beck is an Ass—e, pure and simlple, forgive the obscenity, but he is, as is Hannity and Limbaugh. Anyone who criticizes Roosevelt hasn’t a clue, that includes many Republicans.
One of Roosevelt’s quotes was : “IF I WERE LOOKING FOR A JOB, THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS——JOIN A UNION”. Roosevelt was always looking to help the “Working Man”. His Republican friends (?) railed at him because Roosevelt came from money and it irked the Republicans to have a man with wealth looking out for “The Working Man”.
When Roosevelt took office, the unemployment rate was 25%, in less than 10 years it was down to 10 %, those were very difficult times in our country. Look up at the great things Roosevelt did: he established the CCC, which put hundreds of thousands of young men to work, building roads, bridges, schools, all over the country, he established the WPA, again putting thousands of men to work, he established the NRA ,he furnished seed money for the Grand Coulee Dam, which furnished electricity for 5 states AND provided water for thousands of acres of farmland and many, many other projects to get our country moving forward, yes, the Republicans will say that he tried to pack the court, and he did try in order to help the country. What do we have today on the Supreme (?) Court ? A PACKED CONSERVATIVE COURT, that has helped give an election to George Bush 2, gave Corporations tha right to spend as much as they want (Citizens United). The Supreme Court—-BULLSHIT.

    Sincerely,
    Joe DeMarco
