ABC’s ‘Dancing With The Stars‘ have said yes to Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin, but the producers of the program decided that America isn’t quite ready to see a same-sex couple on the ballroom floor, rejecting actress Portia de Rossi and her wife, talk show host and comedian, Ellen Degeneres.
Since the days of ‘Arrested Development,’ de Rossi has rejected ABC’s offer to dance on the popular TV show. But producers have decided the conservative viewers aren’t ready to see a lesbian couple in the competition.
One Hollywood casting director said,”With all the debate going on about “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in the country, this would have been the perfect time to do this.”
Sources say after the controversy over Bristol Palin’s bizarre popularity with the Tea Party caught producers by surprise, [so] they’re looking to avoid future conflict for a while.
“After Bristol, I predict it will be the most boring bunch of stars ever cast next season,” the casting director says. “When you have a hit as big as this on your hands, everyone is scared to mess it up.”

Portia and Ellen would lend an air of class and style to the show. Obviously, this isn’t the direction the producers want to go.
DWTS jumped the shark a few seasons ago with Gosselin. It doesn’t matter to me who they put on there. It’s a popularity contest, not a real dance show.
Ellen is one of the most beloved talkshow hosts in America. Everyone of her viewers know she’s gay and married to Portia. It’s not like its a secret? The producers of DWTS are a generation behind the curve. I hope the program tanks in the ratings and is off the air in a season or two.
Oh honey! That Bristol needs to lay off the fried taters and moose and eat some leafy green vegetable.

So let me get this straight? DWTS has pursued Portia di Rossi since her days on ‘Arrested Development,’ but as soon as she said she wanted to dance the ballroom portion with her wife, then the producers rescinded their offer?
Sounds like some of the suits don’t like gay folks too much.
I loved DWTS but when they booked the Palin kid, I boycotted the entire season and I really wanted to see Kurt Warner in a tuxedo. The producers are absolute idiots. Get with the 21st century ABC. Portia and Ellen are cool and contemporary and your viewers won’t have a heart attack seeing two two women dance together.
Now really-who is more worthy of a slot on that show, a self-made success story comedienne/talk show host, or a white trash off-product of religious nuts who managed to get herself knocked up while she was in high school?

I can’t imagine a more boring evening than watching people dance on ABC and presumably be critiqued by a panel of judges. I guess the people who agree to go on this show are fame whores of need some pocket change to pay their property taxes.
But I love the picture of Bristol Palin feeding her face. A keeper!
Dancing would be elevated if Portia was on and danced with Ellen. I think they’re making a huge mistake placing conditions on Portia. It’s their loss.
First, Ellen was never going to dance with Portia, Portia would dance with a professional dancer just like everyone else, only of the same sex and not necessarily gay.
Second, and I could be wrong, but from what I’ve read, it was Portia’s decision to not dance. What one of the producers (or someone connected to the show) said that using any other same sex couple wouldn’t work and would seem gimmicky and that America wouldn’t be ready for that.
Bristol Palin is a dirty skank. She’ll screw anything in tight jeans with muscular thighs and a hard pecker.
