WikiLeaks Founder Calls for Hillary Clinton to Resign

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, speaking over Skype from an undisclosed location on Tuesday, called for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to resign, if it can be shown she was responsible for ordering U.S. diplomatic figures to engage in espionage at the United Nations, in violation of the international covenants which the U.S. has signed.

Assange went onto say Clinton, who said the WikiLeaks are an “attack on the world,” is looking like “the fall guy” in the ensuing document dump controversy.

Asked what his “moral calculus” was to justify publishing the leaks and whether he considered what he was doing to be “civil disobedience,” Assange said, “Not at all. This organization practices civil obedience, that is, we are an organization that tries to make the world more civil and act against abusive organizations that are pushing it in the opposite direction.”

He added, “The law is not what a general says it is. The law is not what Hillary Clinton says it is.”

    Assange raises an important point.

If Hillary was following orders from President Obama, then he’s implicated in this mess too. If she acted alone, then she’s a rogue Secretary of State and very dangerous.

  2. Abbey Peripatetic says:

If the Wiki Leaks shines the necessary light on the U.S. government and forces the redeployment of the combat troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, then the leaks resulted in something extremely productive.

I remains to be seen how culpable Hillary is in the UN spy scandal.

If she broke laws and acted alone, she should be prosecuted. If she was just following orders from Obama, then the shit rolls up to the White House and the incoming Republican House of Representatives have their smoking gun to order the Articles of Impeachment and Obama is in serious trouble.

  3. The rumor going around if Obama’s loyalists are leaking to Wikileaks to try and remove Hillary as Secretary of State. Who knows if it’s true or not? At this level and Obama’s secretiveness, nothing would surprise me.

  4. Thai Noodles says:

If Hillary goes down, she will take Obama with her.

Trust me, Hillary and Billary are still extremely powerful and they don’t suffer fools or take hostages. If Obama is throwing Hillary under the bus, he’s even dumber than I thought.

  5. M says:

Okay…… why has this guy decided to go after Clinton? now. and why has he not hacked into any previous administrations? like those files and records are not accessible to his highly geek intelligence?

To me that this stinks of Cheney/Rove/Murdoch trying to bring down and hurt Obama, they will do whatever it takes. Otherwise why is the Wikileaks doing this now? They had the ability to do this before Obama took office. What, lol, like there was not a shit load to disclose on that administration, yet it did not happen.

Yep, things that make ya go hmmmm……..

  6. R.J. Lawson says:

Assange has really stepped in it. Doesn’t he know how the Clintons allegedly take care of their opponents?

  7. Joe in Colorado says:

From what I read on the New York Times website, Assange didn’t “go after Clinton.” But her name is all over the documents because she’s the current Secretary of State. The “why now” question is chronological. Assange didn’t start Wikileaks until mid-2007. In any case, someone commented here that each time the s**t hits the fan, Hillary is on an airplane out of the country ASAP. This can’t be an accident.

  8. feminazi says:

The WikiLeaks document that cracked me up is the one that says China was “scared to death” over a visit by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is outspoken on human rights, and rejected her request to visit to Tibet. I thought, welcome to the club, China, I think we’re all afraid of Pelosi.

  9. Big Hank says:

Julian Assange had better take Ecuador’s offer of permanent residency and settle in because the explosive details of Saudi Arabia asking the U.S. to invade Iran and usher in regime change.

If Tehran thought they could count on the support of the Faad kingdom, the were worfully mistaken.

  10. pobept says:

As some have said, this is a Obama administration problem.
However the documents being leaked go as far back as the Bill Clinton presidency. So this wanted accused rapist, is nothing more or less than a cyber terrorist pushing his ‘own’ personal agenda.

  11. Estacada says:

I think Glenn Greenwald nailed it when he said of WikiLeaks on Salon:

“Those who expose secrets far more hated than who commit heinous acts.”

We should never be afraid of the truth but we should always worry when our elected representatives and their team break the law.

  12. Brigadoon says:

M – How does Cheney/Rove/Murdoch enter into this? Obama appointed Hillary Clinton Secretary of State. Cheney/Rove/Murdoch aren’t in-charge of the Obama administration. Am I missing something here?

  13. Massagatto says:

Same Hillary belongs in a federal prison.

Of course, it will never happen but this lawlessness on her part has the Clinton family coat of arms all over it. Hillary/Billary tock, the scum is off the clock.
