Obama Doesn’t Call World Series Winning SF Giants

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Ending a longstanding American tradition of calling the winning World Series team to congratulate them, President Barack Obama failed to call the San Francisco Giants after San Francisco beat the Texas Rangers 3-1 in Game 5 and capture its first World Series title since 1954.

Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter tells KNTV the champion team has yet to hear from Mr. Obama.

Slaughter says team management gave the White House the private line into manager Bruce Bochy’s office, as well as other numbers for Obama to get in touch — but so far, nothing.

Apparently, the president was too busy giving an interview to American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, as reported in the Huffington Post.

San Francisco is a well known gay-friendly city.

Barry doesn’t want to honey up to the Giants or San Francisco because it might not play in the heartland or the southern states. He’s a moron.

  2. Rachel says:

This was a thrilling World Series. Obama just keeps finding ways to solidify his burgeoning reputation as emotionally out of touch with mainstream America. Maybe if it was the NCAA? Who knows. Obama will only serve one term. America gets it, he doesn’t like most of us.

  3. Marcus Ybanez says:

They say Obama is a remote intellectual. I think this is an accurate characterization.

If Bill Clinton “felt our pain,” Obama is the opposite of Clinton. If he saw you crawling on the side of the road, he would drive his car over you and shrug.

Baseball is “America’s game.” Not basketball. Obama made a huge strategic error not calling the Giants in the clubhouse last night. Now if he calls, it won’t have the same import.

How do ya say “Raspberry” in Beltway?

  5. zarathustra says:

hey,we’re lucky this president knows enough to wipe his ass…………… he doesn’t know much else!

  6. Chad Lebanon says:

    Who needs him?

  7. stradella says:

Consider the source? Obambi is a brother and like most brothers, he digs basketball.

Baseball has a predominantly Caucasian fan base.

At this point in the game, Obambi ain’t about to step out of his comfort zone.

  8. DMason says:

You know what will happen? Obama will catch flack for this oversight and then with great fanfare, he will call the Giants like tomorrow, after their celebratory parade in downtown San Francisco. But by then, no one will give a shit. It’s like sending a birthday card a month late. I mean, why make the effort?

  9. R.J. Lawson says:

    What a prick.

  10. b milan says:

just one of another east coast ass who looked past the best TEAM in the league. SF DESERVES BETTER

  11. Randy Arroyo says:

Odd indeed. Maybe Mr. Obama is intimidated by all those hunky, powerful baseball players. The way he’s intimidated by all those hunky, powerful men in the U.S. military? Just a thought.

  12. Adirondacky says:

For what it’s worth, I’m not the president but I’d like to say congratulations to the San Francisco Giants for an amazing World Series. You guys pitched well and hot well and you made all of us baseball fans proud. Well done, guys!

  13. Jolly Roger says:

It doesn’t matter now. He just got his second term, if he wants it.

  14. mark says:

    Another reason to hate him!
The Giant’s kicked ass on the so called elite of major league baseball with amazing pitching an great coaching.
By the way, this election was the only way Obama would get re-elected, but he’ll probably loose anyway. Not that the knuckle dragging teabaggers are much better than the libs, but the best we can hope for anymore is gridlock.

  15. Tasty Brochure says:

Bar B Que him ! TWICE!
