Hapless President Obusha Attacks Liberals but Remains Silent on DADT Vote

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Oh, this is rich. The hapless President Obusha fired a blistering attack at his liberal base (the voters who helped sweep him into office) yesterday during a fund-raising stop in Philadelphia with a patronizing attack suggesting his critics are nothing more than whining, insolent children.

Obama pontificated yesterday:

“When I hear Democrats griping and groaning and saying … ‘the health care plan didn’t have a public option’, and … ‘the financial reform — there was a provision here that I think we should have gotten better’, or, ‘you know what, yes, you ended the war in Iraq, the combat mission there, but you haven’t completely finished the Afghan war yet’, this or that or the other, I say ‘folks, wake up’.This is not some academic exercise. As Joe Biden put it, don’t compare us to the Almighty; compare us to the alternative.”

How telling that Obusha would attack his liberal base but not ask the Congress to pass the Defense Authorization Bill to which the DADT repeal measure is attached. The DADT vote is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

If the DADT vote dies thanks to ME Republican Sen. Susan Collins, as many blame, then all that time and energy Obama spent courting her last year, carrying her around on a satin pillow as if she’s a toy poodle, was all for nothing.

Because when push comes to shove, Collins is a proud Republican and she played Obama for the naive fool we now know him to be.

  2. Walk on Socks says:

If the DADT repeal measure fails, Obama can whine and blame those horrible Republicans for his troubles and not take responsibility for his own failure to lead on the issue.

It’s the ultimate example of passive-aggressive behavior run amok.

Obama’s 100% silence on the DADT vote just helps prove the longstanding perception of a politician who stands for nothing except himself.

When he ran against Hillary Clinton in the primary, a lot of people said they had an uneasy, gut feeling about him because he was like mercury. It was impossible to get a handle on him — a read. He was like the wind.

Now that he’s president and we’ve had almost two years to see him in action, I think the skeptics were correct all along.
