Sheyla Hershy’s dream of having the world’s largest breasts may have an unintended consequence: death.
The 30-year-old Texas woman, model, and new mom, had 30 procedures to augment her breasts over the years, fluctuating from an astonishing 38MMM to as small as a regular D cup while she was pregnant, now suffers from a potentially deadly staph infection after her most recent procedure in her native Brazil.
According to ABC News, Hershey she was forced to travel to Brazil for her most recent augmentation procedure because Texas law prevents inserting more than a gallon of silicon into the human body for fear of toxicity.
Doctors fear if the staph infection in her breasts enters her bloodstream, it could prove fatal. On Tuesday, Hershey underwent emergency surgery to remove her implants.
