Texas GOP Really Hates “teh Gays”

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

The Texas GOP really hates “teh Gays.” In fact, the party voted on a platform by which their candidates will stand, and it includes the reinstatement of laws banning sodomy: otherwise known as oral and anal sex. Because we know straight people never engage in oral and anal sex.

Homosexuality – We believe that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit, and leads to the spread of dangerous, communicable diseases. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans. Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle in our public education and policy, nor should “family” be redefined to include homosexual “couples.” We are opposed to any granting of special legal entitlements, refuse to recognize, or grant special privileges including, but not limited to: marriage between persons of the same sex (regardless of state of origin), custody of children by homosexuals, homosexual partner insurance or retirement benefits. We oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values.

Texas Sodomy Statutes – We oppose the legalization of sodomy. We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.

The party’s platform also seeks to make gay marriage a felony offense, which is odd to most given the state does not sanction or recognize same sex marriages, meaning any same-sex marriage conducted outside the state does not bear the weight of law. Does this means the Texas GOP wants gay couples married in other states and and living in Texas pursued through the Lone Star state as dangerous criminals?

Apparently, the morons (or should I say ‘morans?’) who run the TX GOP never heard of the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution.

As such, when the US Supreme Court struck down the state sodomy law — Texas was the last state in the Union to have such a law, the High Court ruled the law was unconstitutional and unenforceable.

Since Texas republicans have a problem with this concept, perhaps secession is their only answer? In fact, I hope it happens sooner than later.

  2. Brigadoon says:

Because we know straight people never engage in oral and anal sex.

Because in Texas, straight Repugs only do it once a week, with their clothes on and only Missionary style.

  3. feminazi says:

The US Census projects Texas will be 70% Hispanic by the year 2050. I wonder if the remaining, white Republicans will pass a party plank at some point demanding only conservative Latinos will be allowed to live there?

  4. Estacada says:

There is something pathologically wrong with these people.

Time after time, Texas whines about “unfunded Federal mandates,” then as soon as a natural disaster strikes them, they come-a-crawling to Washington with their wallet open crying, “help, help.”

Like others have said, the sooner Texas secedes from the Union, the happier they will be and the happier most American will be. They can reclaim and rename themselves the Republic of Texas and even mint their own currency and mount their own military.

  5. TOM339 says:

    I’m confused?

Is the TX GOP advocating their legal and behavioral gold standard requires straight, male Republicans never receive/give oral sex or just gay Republican men?

In either case, I think this could be a hard sell. No pun intended. 😉

  6. ZarathustraMike says:

I wipe my ass with the pages of your bible….. a book written by Bronze age men, Not your IMAGINARY ‘ghourd’.

  7. R.J. says:

Texas has always hated “teh gays”. I seriously doubt this will ever change in my lifetime.

  8. Mets Fan says:

Did you folks watch Keith last night?

His “Worst Person in the World” segment was awarded to Rick Perry. The state has an $11 billion dollar budget shortfall but, the state dropped $850 million on new school books extolling the glories of Newt Gingrich’s ‘Contract on America.’

  9. lea-lea says:

    What a truly despicable lot.

I hope Texas and Arizona secede. In fact, the sooner the better. Washington DC should be a state. Many Puerto Ricans want to be part of the Union.

Let’s put it to a vote. If they want out, let them go!

  10. Harry says:

    Brigadoon — LMAO!

  11. Peace Nick says:

These TX wingtards are Bible-thumping, hate-filled bigots.

  12. Jolly Roger says:

Texas is a lost cause. Let them go, and then attack them for their oil. I’m sure we can get someone to swear that Guv Goodhair traveled some place to get hold of some yellowcake uranium.

  13. Dale L. Suyeishi says:

As a general rule, the Republican party is obsessed with “teh gays.”

Frankly, it’s more than a little ironic considering the number of high profile Republican closet cases and closet queens in their party.

Sen. Larry Craig, Tony Blankley, Rep. David Dreier, Rep. Mark Foley, and Rep. Duke Cummingham, to name a few.

  14. Arizona Leatherneck says:

Dale L. Suyeishi – Good points all!

Group mentality think uses a common enemy to bond and unify the troops. Be they on the battlefield or in the neighborhood.

As long as I can remember, conservatives have demonized gay people. Christians have exploited their hatred of gay people to rally the faithful around the baby Jeebus.

This shiz has got to stop, folks. We’re all live on an increasingly small planet. When one dies everyone dies. The Texas GOP is just plain wrong.

  15. if texas secedes (and that is NO loss) please beg them to take Oklahoma and Jim INhofe with them.

or maybe they should just get Joe Farton to apologize to all the straight people in texas.
