It’s hard to be soft. According to country singer, and Celebrity Rehab star, Mindy McCready, who had an affair with Roger “Rocket” Clemens, the ex-New York Yankee pitcher had “a lot of problems” getting his bat up during their affair, which started when McCready was 15 years old.
Clemens, a seven-times Cy Young winner, forfeited his chance to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame after lying to the Congress about anabolic steroid use after Brian McNamee, his former personal trainer, testified before a House committee that he personally injected Clemens with anabolic steroids at least 16 times from 1998 to 2001.
Among the unfortunate side effects of anabolic steroid use is suppression of natural sex hormones and impotence. All I can say about Clemens is, what a dope.
There is a whole generation of former MLB greats who will have a real or presumed asterisk next to their stats because of admitted or suspected steroid use.
Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Andy Pettitte and Roger Clemens, to name a few.
The side effects just aren’t worth it. Impotence, heart disease and diminished testicle size, can greet the user of performance enhancing drugs.
My younger brother experimented with ‘roids as a weight lifter and he wound up with such demons that he fought a cop and went to jail for 6 months.
It’s poison and nothing good comes from using it.
The “Rocket failed to launch!” LMAO!
I guess that’s why these overpaid whiners always seem angry. Their noodle doesn’t work anymore.
When I learned he and Bush were buddies, I wrote Clemens off as a player and a person.
If his judgment is so poor as to befriend Bush, then is it such a leap to think he would abuse his body and the MLB with drug use? I think not.
Love the headline. And Roger Clemens deserves the humiliation. I never liked the man, steroids or no. He always blew the game or was taken out just when it mattered most.
Steroids is too touch and go…. I prefer we use the KNIFE approach with these priests!!! Problem SOLVED!!!!
He could always land himself a Blackwater gig with his “resume.”
For years I’ve thought Roger Clemens was a scumbag, and this was well before he was implicated in the steroid probe. He was never sportsmanlike, and I had mixed feelings when he pitched for the Jays.
And how come no one is going after him for having an affair with a minor?
