Embattled Cardinal Asks Ireland to ‘Pray for Me’

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

During a homily on St. Patrick’s Day, Cardinal Sean Brady, the leader of the Catholic Church in Ireland apologized for his role in the cover-up of the country’s worst pedophile priest, saying he felt “ashamed.” He also asked the congregation to “pray for me.”

Cardinal Sean Brady didn’t ask for prayers for the victims of the pedophile priest. He asked people to pray for him. Isn’t this all-too typical of the selfish, Catholic hierarchy?

Brady admitted that when he was a priest and a teacher in 1975, he was present at two meetings where two children said they had been sexually abused by the Rev. Brendan Smyth. Shockingly, the children were required to sign oaths of secrecy. Brady did not report the abuse, he said, because he did not feel it was his responsibility.

There is something terribly wrong with the Catholic church. Scandals involving pedophile priests have been coming to the fore as long as I can remember.

All I know is, were it my son or daughter, I wouldn’t let the court system deal with these predators.

My brothers and I would hunt the priest down and tear his arms and legs from his body. Then stuff them down his throat.

National governments are now getting involved.

Germany and Ireland call on Catholic church to hold child sex abuse inquiries

Angela Merkel, said the scandal of abuse in the country’s churches and schools posed a “major challenge” that could only be resolved through a full and frank inquiry into all cases.

Addressing the Bundestag in her first public statement on the subject, she called the sexual abuse of minors a “despicable crime”. She added: “The only way for our society to come to terms with it is to look for the truth and find out everything that has happened.”

She warned, however, that “the damage suffered by the victims can never fully be repaired”.

They should haul his sorry ass off to jail, where Bubba will give him some of what he turned a blind eye to. This just infuriates me! If it wasn’t his goddamned job, who the hell’s job was it???

  4. R.J. says:

I doubt anything will ever happen with those inquiries. Other than monetary damages have any of the guilty priests here in America done any hard time for their crimes?

  5. Conejo1982 says:

Bingo. It’s all about this poor, misunderstood bishop who buried the truth about a perverted priest who harmed children.

    Poor Bishop Brady. Whaaaaaaaaaa.

  6. libhomo says:

St. Patrick, who was not Irish, was an asshole for bringing that child molesting cult to Ireland.

  7. TOM339 says:

Cardinal Sean Brady is lucky my kin don’t find him.

All the prayers in the world wouldn’t save him from the angry wrath of a dozen Irish and Scottish boys ready to knock some sense into his ass for molesting these boys.

What would the Dalai Lama say about this?

  9. Heh heh, that’s awesome chutzpah.
