Catholic Priests Under Investigation for Molesting Boys in Brazil

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

The global Catholic priest sex abuse scandal has appeared in Brazil. Authorities are investigating three pervert priests accused of sexually abusing altar boys after a video allegedly showing one case of abuse was broadcast on television, police and church officials said Tuesday.

The case came to light after the SBT network aired a video purportedly showing an 82-year-old priest having sex with a 19-year-old altar boy who worked for him for four years. Other young men appeared on the report saying that they, too, had been abused by Monsignor Luiz Marques Barbosa.

Also under investigation are Monsignor Raimundo Gomes, 52, and Father Edilson Duarte, 43, for allegedly having sexual relations with boys and young men.

According to a statement from the church, the three priests are “supposedly involved in acts (yet to be proven) of sexual abuse.” The statement did not say whether the men admit or deny guilt. None of the priests could be located to ask about the case, and the church would not provide contact details for them.

The Catholic church was in the news again recently when it was disclosed that a choir member at the Vatican was operating a male prostitution ring out of the Vatican under Pope RatNAZI’s nose. A cautionary note to my readers. If you have young children,  especially young boys and teenage boys, do not under any circumstances let them alone with a priest. The culture of Catholicism is dangerous and perverted.

When will Americans and Europeans begin pushing back against this nest of tax exempt perverts?

How many more teenage boys have to lose their sanity so an 82 year old, half-dead priest can have one last jolly?

The only way I would allow my son near a Catholic church is if he was packing and he had the clearance from me: if the priest touches you, shoot him between the eyes.

The only sure fire way to end this 50 year-old mess is to take the necessary legal action to shut the Roman Catholic church down permanently.

If a city or town chooses to allow a church to remain open, the church must agree to have a liability policy in place, to cover the expense of psychological counseling if a priest molests a local child, and to cover the costs of damages resulting from a future lawsuit.

    Sick bastards.

I thought that if catholic priests want to be catholic priests, they aren’t supposed to have sex. Maybe they should have to part ways with their testacles first. I grew up on a ranch in Montana…it’s a simple procedure and one I would volunteer to do on them.

  5. Rachel says:

What’s described here isn’t sex: it’s Pederasty. A relationship between an older man and an adolescent or teenage boy outside his immediate family. The historical act of pederasty has changed over time. In the industrialized world, pederasty is viewed as unacceptable and illegal. The statuary punishment in some Islamic countries is death. In the U.S., it’s a prison sentence. I don’t pretend to fathom what makes Catholic priest engage in this behavior but, after nearly 50 years of high profile cases involving priests and teenagers, I think we need to draw some conclusions. As Christopher wrote, parents need to keep their male kids away from Catholic priests. To do anything else is just inviting trouble.

Rachel – Thanks for the clarification about the terms “pedophile” and “pederasty.” I did not know the difference. About these priests, I have no clue about what the Vatican should do about them. The fact that it keeps happening repeatedly suggests a cultural problem. Maybe the Catholic church has no business existing at all in the modern world?

Any parent who knowingly lets their son or daughter alone with a Catholic priest should have their head examined.

  8. Chad Lebanon says:

You understand how the Catholic church plays this?

If the abuse begins at age 15, and then continues until the boy is say, 18 or 19, then he reports it, the church claims an 18 or 19 year old isn’t a child, so there can’t be charges of child rape leveled against the priest.

They have it all worked out legally.

  9. Aunt Peg says:

Let me try to understand this.

Gays can’t get married according to the Pope but Catholic Priests can rape kids and instead of going to prison, then get “transferred” to another state? No, this is morally bankrupt thinking and we can’t let it be tolerated.

  10. This is what happens when you systematically stifle the sex drive.
