This excellent map show the number of hours from the moment the massive 8.8 Chilean earthquake struck, and until the tsunami wave hits land. The Hawaiian Islands will be impacted at 4PM EST today. The tsunami zone threatens a fourth of the earth.

Fascinating map, Christopher.
It’s amazing to me that the earthquake was so big and powerful that 21 hours later, it will create a tsunami hitting Russia.
The energy of nature is unlike anything we’ve ever created, like hydrogen bombs.
Wow. It’s too bad the cable news channels don’t use graphics like this one to educate viewers. I have had CNN on for three hours and the idiots on there seem to want to make the earthquake a big party.
This is a fascinating graphic.
Image a massive amount energy that is capable of traveling from Chile, south to Australia and north to the west coast of North America and across to Japan and Russia.
This is a very useful map. Thanks for posting it.
Like others have said, we think we can tame nature and then nature decides to tame us. Look who’s boss now?
