Jay Leno Returning to 11:30PM Slot

Thursday, January 7, 2010

In case anyone cares, TMZ is reporting Jay Leno is returning to his 11:30 PM time slot. The fate of Conan O’Brien is undecided.

I’m not a regular late night viewer because usually I’m in bed and asleep by 11:30PM most nights. However, watching the suits at NBC nearly destroy the network from their disastrous decision to eschew the scripted programs viewers want in order to save a few dollars by moving Leno to 10:00PM has been fascinating.

Media sources report NBC is preparing 18 new scripted programs for 2010 and 2011.

The NY Post is reporting NBC may be cancelling Leno completely. This is war. I think they should return Leno to 11:30PM and fire the idiot who moved him to 10:00PM. The money boys at NBC are incompetent.

  2. Prairiedog says:

Connon is the worst mess on TV. I didn’t understand him on late night and I found him painful to watch in Leno’s 11:30p.m. slot.

He isn’t funny and he looks uncomfortable in his own skin. You know, the camera doesn’t lie. Connon knew he was wrong for Leno’s earlier slot.

I wonder if NBC can win their audience back with the changes or if it’s too late?

Connon is much funnier. hotter looking, and less Republican than Leno. But, the Tonight Show is mostly watched by seniors who love him. Middle age and young people won’t watch the show in significant numbers no matter who the host is.

  4. Pechanga says:

Can’t say I find either of them funny. I like Craig Furgeson but he’s on too late for me.

At 11PM, I’m usually paying bills online, brushing and flossing and trying to find my keys to drive to work the next day. Who is on Television at 11:30PM just doesn’t resonate much in my crib.

I do stay up past 11PM on Saturday night. I like to watch a couple of movies or go out for dinner and a movie.
