Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) wins a Penis Pig Award for saying Tuesday that he’d back a Republican filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s health care reform bill.
Caucusing with Democrats and is positioning himself as a fiscal hawk on the issue, Lieberman said he opposes a health care bill that includes a government run insurance program even if it includes an opt out provision allowing states to not participate in the program.
“We’re trying to do too much at once. To put this government-created insurance company on top of everything else is just asking for trouble for the taxpayers, for the premium payers and for the national debt. I don’t think we need it now.”
Curious language coming from Sen. Lieberman who voted to support former President Bush’s Iraq war which required the U.S. to borrow billions of dollars from Communist China and Japan, adding substantially to this country’s budget deficit.
The U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee Report of 2009 reports the state of Connecticut has 334,000 uninsured residents, which representing 9.7% of the total state population. Evidently, these numbers are meaningless to Sen. Joe Lieberman.

Lieberman is a dirt bag. I truly despise him. He has his nose buried up insurance industry’s a-holes and in turn, he gets big $$$ from insurance every time he runs for reelection. He’s disgusting senator. I can’t believe Connecticut rewarded him with another term.

If healthcare fails because of Joe Asshole, I hope he gets the James Byrd treatment.
He deserves nothing less. Killing healthcare will impact tens-of-millions of Americans. People with cancer, heart disease, AIDS, the list is endless. No punishment will fit the crime.
Lieberman is a douche bag, but Democrats brought this on themselves. They had the chance to punish him for campaigning with his BFF John McCain and they didn’t. This is what they get for playing nice with a traitor.
So if Lieberman derails healthcare reform, will he be picking up the cost of medical care for the millions who won’t be able to go to the doctor and receive care? Of course not. I really hope Harry Reid grows a pair and strips Lieberman of all his chairman jobs. I am not holding my breath. Reid is a wussy.

I know this might not be the most appropriate place to post this but for other readers living in the USA are you concerned about the debt? It just seems like it is getting to the point where the country is going to go bankrupt and my husband and I are just a little concerned that our kids and grandkids are going to have some big problems in a few years.
