Thirteen years after signing the viciously homophobic “Defense of Marriage Act,” former President Bill Clinton now says he supports gay marriage.
When asked after a speech at the Campus Progress National Conference, Clinton opined:
“I personally support people doing what they want to do. I think it’s wrong for someone to stop someone else from doing that [same-sex marriage].”
Too bad Clinton didn’t have this moral clarity back in 1996 when he buckled to pressure from the religious right and signed DOMA into law.
Thanks for nothing, Bill.
