Why is President Obama Protecting Dick Cheney?

Unlike former Presidents, former Vice Presidents don’t receive Secret Service protection. The exception to this rule is, former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Cheney appears poised to keep his security detail into perpetuity.

Sources confirmed that Cheney’s Secret Service detail was extended courtesy of President Obama with no details on the length of time the burdened American taxpayer will have to foot the bill.

I don’t know why President Obama would OK this unusual extension, but indications are that Cheney is the recipient of threats at both his homes in Virginia and in Maryland, where he’s holed-up writing his autobiography.

When he’s not on FOX News dissing President Obama.

Cheney’s a multi millionaire. It isn’t my duty as an American to protect him and his shrew wife as they live in wealth and splendor. Obama needs his head examined for do this. But his administration won’t help the state of California which happens to be broke and living on IOUs?

  2. feminazi says:

Randy hit the nail on the proverbial head. Cheney is a rich man and if he needs security, he should pay for it himself. The White House needs to receive a few thousand angry emails from Americans saying Cheney’s security detail is his own problem.

  3. TOM339 says:

I think Obama is creating a precedent for Biden.

No Republican lawmaker would dare oppose the US providing Secret Service protection to Cheney, so when Obama/Biden leave office, whoever the president will have a standard to justify providing similar security to Joe Biden when he returns to being a private citizen.

It’s curious though, how none of the mainstream media is reporting this. Once again, had I not seen it here, I would have not known Cheney was getting the presidential treatment at my expense.

    TOM339 is correct.

I didn’t make the connection as precedent for Biden but, I don’t think Biden is as controversial or as rich as Cheney and I resent my hard earned tax dollars going to protect his fat ass.

How dare you desicrate possibly the best Johnny Cash photograph to ever exist! 🙂

  6. libhomo says:

Cheney is not entitled to Secret Service protection. He was illegally occupying the office of Vice President due to two stolen elections.
