Unlike former Presidents, former Vice Presidents don’t receive Secret Service protection. The exception to this rule is, former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Cheney appears poised to keep his security detail into perpetuity.
Sources confirmed that Cheney’s Secret Service detail was extended courtesy of President Obama with no details on the length of time the burdened American taxpayer will have to foot the bill.
I don’t know why President Obama would OK this unusual extension, but indications are that Cheney is the recipient of threats at both his homes in Virginia and in Maryland, where he’s holed-up writing his autobiography.
When he’s not on FOX News dissing President Obama.
