Another Ethics Complaint Against Palin

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Governor Sarah Palin may be resigning from her job, but this hasn’t stopped the flow of ethics violations of the Alaska Executive Ethics Act against the governor.

Zane Henning, a conservative government watchdog from the governor’s hometown of Wasilla (the Meth capital of the state) and an oilfield worker on Alaska’s North Slope, asserts in a letter to Alaska Attorney General Daniel S. Sullivan that Palin has “been charging and pocketing per diem to live in her home and has used the process for a personal gain since being elected.”

The Washington Post first broke this story last September during the 2008 presidential race, but until now, no formal ethics charges have been brought on the matter in Alaska.

In a detailed press release accompanying his complaint, Henning declared:

Palin’s use of the per diem is in direct conflict with Section 39.52.120. (a) of the Alaska Executive Ethics Act. More than a thousand state employees commute from the Mat-Su Valley daily and none of them get to pocket free money.

If she chooses not to live there, Alaskans should not have to pay for it. I am requesting that you and the Personnel Board direct Governor Sarah Palin to reimburse the State of Alaska all per diem funds, plus interest, and a fine that are related to charges while staying in her Wasilla residence.

In February, Palin was required to pay back income taxes on thousands of dollars in expense money she received while living at her home overlooking Lake Lucille in Wasilla. Little more than two weeks ago she was forced to pay back the State of Alaska more than $8,100.00 for nine trips taken by her children that she had improperly charged as being part of official state business.

What number is this? 15? 16? It’s clear that Palin is ethically challenged and doesn’t have a clean bone in her body. She’s a Republican who subscribes to the notion that the rules and the law pertain to everyone but her. Even when she’s out of office, my guess is we will be learning of more and more of these ethics problems and irregularities. She and Todd played the people of Alaska like fools.

  2. Woodcliffe says:

Aren’t you afraid Palin’s lawyers will sue you for reporting this story?

This crazy broad fancies herself Kim Jong Il. The little dictator in drag and riding a snow mobile.

I think feminazi is correct. A year from now we will be reading about the myriad ethics violations involving Palin and her husband. They clearly saw Alaska as their personal ATM.

  3. joost says:

Palin’s state salary is $125,000 a year but yet she was unwilling to pay $8,100 for 9 trips for her family with her own money? Maybe that evil David Letterman made her do it? You just know that is what her female supporters will claim.

  4. Brigadoon says:

I hope the victims of rape in Wasilla, AK who were forced to pay for their own rape kits during Palin’s tenure as mayor, join in a class action lawsuit and sue Palin for her last dollar. Bitch needs to be taught a lesson in humanity.

  5. TOM339 says:

What is good for Sarah Palin is bad for Alaska.

She’s bad equality, bad for the First Amendment, bad for the state economy, bad for special education, bad for the environment, bad for those struggling with addiction, bad for the middleclass, and the working poor, and bad for women.

I’m of two minds about Palin. While I think she’s a moron who is clearly in way over her head and her ambitions got the best of her, I also think the voters of Alaska took and look and said she is who they want in Juneau.

In politics, as in life, buyer beware.

  6. lea lea says:

It will be the end of western civilization if in a year from today there’s a news announcement that Palin has been studying song and dance and is opening in Branson, MO as a headliner.

Serious, nothing this crazy heffa does would surprise me.

  7. dguzman says:

Given all these penalties and paybacks she’s having to make, I’m guessing she quit governing so she could do speeches for $150K a pop. Typical repug–decrying welfare and other social programs, then getting their own kind of “welfare” by stealing from the taxpayers.

We can only hope she’ll get a reality TV show and get cancelled within a couple of episodes.

  8. Oh, Henning, you’re so getting sued.

  9. Jenna Bush Stole My ID says:

Shut your mouth, Miss Lea Lea.

Don’t give the Caribou Barbie and her manager husband any ideas. Neither want a regular 9-5 day job where they have to work for a living like the rest of us.

  10. Harry says:

Since Alaska is run by Republicans, she really can’t claim she’s the victim of a liberal witchunt? But I’m sure she will find someone to blame.

  11. Greg says:

Can’t she and Perez Hilton just disappear already?

  12. okjimm says:

After the election I thought Sarah would just kind of disappear. I never thought she would stick around long enough to commit seppuku.

  13. Estacada says:

Palin’s in the hole to her lawyers for $500,000 and she has no source of income.

Here’s a few possibilities I think we will be suffering through in the years to come:

    1. a book deal and an appearance on Oprah
    2. speaking engagements
    3. a talkshow on FIXED Noise
    4. a fashion line of outdoor wear

If all else fails, there’s always porn!

  14. Bee says:

If all else fails, there’s always porn!

NOOOOOO!!!!! AAAAAIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHH! Say it ain’t so! Say it ain’t so!

Damn, mental image that I could live without…

  15. JollyRoger says:

I doubt Caribou Barbie will hurt for money. She’ll be in the lower 48, working for FOX “News,” in no time.

  16. No Nonsense says:

Now she was paid per diem for living in her own home, is this the same house where she pilfered supplies from the sport complex to build? How bold!

  17. Randy Arroyo says:

There was a porn movie called Nailin’ Palin. I think it was filmed last year. I saw a clip from it and the lead actress was amazing. She looked and sounded just like the Caribou Barbie. Who says porn actors can’t act other than faking an orgasm?

  18. bradfrmphnx says:

Gaaawd Bee. That would beat all…
    …..everyone together now….EWWWWWW!!

  19. Aunt Peg says:

I’d poor Drano in my eyes after looking at that visage.

    Please, no, no, no, no!
