Just a reminder, folks.

As of today, according to the good people at Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), since Barack Obama became president, 257 gay men and lesbian woman have been summarily kicked out of the military under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” since Obama became president.

Repeal the ban, Congress. Send President Obama a bill to sign that repeals the viciously homophobic, Clinton-era policy of antigay discrimination.

That many??? Jeez, Congress better do something about this quick.

  2. rckweho1981 says:

These 257 victims of DADT need to visit Congress en mass and invade the chamber. Tip off the media before the appear and then shame these useless idiots for failing to do their job.

  3. Brigadoon says:

Why would any self-respecting queer be willing to serve this country as long as the laws are stacked against us? It’s too risky.

  4. Randy Arroyo says:

When DADT is repealed and I believe it will be, I think the Congress should reinstate 100% of the victims of the policy — if they wish to return to active duty and restore their benefits. They served their country — unlike Bill Clinton, who signed the God damned bill into law.

  5. Idaho Librul says:

    This is disgraceful.

Good American men and women who have the desire to serve their country honorably only to be kicked to the curb by a policy that discriminates on the basis on their affectional preferences.

This is immoral. If the Congress doesn’t get off its ass and get a bill to Obama to repeal DADT, then I believe the entire Democratic Congress needs to be voted out of office — one by one.

    Enough of this bullshit.

We aren’t as free as we think we are in this country.

  7. Conejo1982 says:

    Wrong, wrong, wrong.

The Congress must get busy on this and send the president a bill repealing this dreadful policy.

And to Bill Clinton for signing DADT back in 1996, fuck off.

  8. feminazi says:

My heart breaks when I think of the brave men and women who yearned to serve this nation and yet once the military learns they are gay or lesbian, are shown the door and kicked to the curb. Even illegal immigrants are allowed to serve in the military and use their service as a stepping stone to citizenship.

  9. libhomo says:

If the Democrats don’t do more for queers and organized labor, 2010 will look more like 1994 than they realize.

  10. but yet the military will take known white supremists and other assorted “fun people” the hypocrisy of this country never ceases to amaze me

  11. Dmitris says:

The Congress needs to get his done before the end of the year so President Obama can sign the repeal bill or trust me, there will be hell to pay. 2010 is a mid term election and the people will punish the president and the Congress is they wuss out.

  12. rckweho1981: I hope they show up at the DNC fundraiser on the 25th. In uniform. That will get the tv cameras there.

  13. JollyRoger says:

It’s a pity they don’t apply DADT to those Jesusistani proselytizers and throw them the hell out.
