Homophobe John McCain: “DADT Working Fine”

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain (the candidate the PUMA loons said was superior to Barack Obama) says the homophobic military policy of  ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ is working fine and should not be repealed.

Watch here:

“We have the best-trained, most professional, best- equipped, most efficient, most wonderful military in the history of this country, and I’m proud of every one of them. There just aren’t enough of them. So I think it would be a terrific mistake to even reopen the issue. The policy is working. And I am convinced that that’s the way we can maintain this greatest military. Let’s not tamper with them.”

Born in 1936, the 73-year old John McCain has held this POV for years. It’s more than apparent he’s incapable of change. How much longer until he finally retires and begins spending his heiress wife’s fortune?

McCain is on his way to becoming the senate’s new Jesse Helms.

I hate him. They should have left his ass in that hole in the ground in Viet Nam. McCain’s a worthless piece of human excrement. Time to flush him down the commode where he belongs.

  2. Harry says:

John McCain: COCK PUNCH. He’s an asshole.

  3. VicoDANIEL says:

Amazing video. Thanks for posting it, Christopher.

John McCain isn’t half the man his daughter Megan McCain is and there isn’t a day that passes where I don’t look to the sky and thank the election Gods that John McCain wasn’t elected president.

Obama is far from perfect but compared to McCain, Obama is John F. Kennedy.

  4. Godless American says:

OK, I don’t like John McCain either, but lets not be ridiculous. Megan McCain is a spoiled little bitch herself. John McCain is old, plain and simple. Society has changed too rapidly for him and many, er… most, senior citizens. Most people his age agree with him. He just needs to retire, to step down, and let progression take its natural course.

To him DADT just happened yesterday, he still isn’t use to it. I served for 6 years and once DADT was released many people began acting like they would like to; for some people it was obvious they were gay. It was only if they explicitly stated they were gay were they kicked out. It’s still wrong, but it’s getting better and it’s only a matter of time. Thankfully, there are those that are in the military standing up and calling attention to it.

McCain is too old, and too tired; he needs to retire.

No follow-up question on that insane staatement?

How about this: The policy is working? For whom, Mr. McCain?

  6. Arizona Leatherneck says:

    DADT working fine?

Maybe Sen. McCain should talk to Army National Guardsman Dan Choi, and who was fired because he came out on TV?

I despise John McCain and I’ve voted against him everytime he’s up for reelection. He’s a disgrace to the state of Arizona. He’s don’t squat for this state. He would knock down his 98 year old mother to get his ugly mug in front of a TV camera.

  7. Jeffrey says:

Let us all be happy the old fossil did not make it in the white house. He will Die soon of old age and it will be one less fossil in office.

  8. Idaho Librul says:

Last year, during the 2008 primary, I kept reading these alarming accounts from Capitol Hill staffers who were all too familiar with John McCain’s idea of humor.

Smart, accomplished, single women, McCain referred to as “dykes, who needed a man,” and gay men he referred to as “fags,” and “queers,” and joked about all the “faggot decorators” who worked for his wife.

He’s vintage 1962. A dinosaur and he needs to either STFU or retire.

  9. Afrit007 says:

Very few of the actual troops still support DADT. The truth is, the only people who still defend this misguided and, frankly, stupid policy are right-wing senators and “religious” leaders who’ve never actually served themselves.

Society has moved on. The best comment on it I ever heard was from an Army NCO who said he didn’t care if you are straight as long as you can shoot straight.

    And that’s all that matters.

  10. Randy Arroyo says:

Afrit007 is 1000% spot-on. My 22 year old nephew just got out of the Army after 3 tours in Iraq and 4 years total in the service. He knows I’m gay, doesn’t care and we’ve talked about DADT a number of times. He says most young folks in the military just don’t care whether you’re gay or straight or bi. It’s a new generation. My nephew is relevant. McCain is nearly dead.

  11. libhomo says:

In an odd sense, “Keating Five” McCain is correct. “DADT” is working in the sense that it is accomplishing its goals: promoting witchhunts and discharges against queers in the military.

The military ban is a pile of crap, no matter how it’s packaged.

  12. bradfrmphnx says:

Arizona’s vote is dominated by Mormons, religious rightwingers, and a lot of extremely conservative retired people. But that may soon change.

I can say that judging by the daily blogs, and the dismal way the Republican lead legislature is mismanaging the state, that folks are getting fed up. In the last ten years over a million people have moved to Phoenix changing the voting demographics.

McCain’s next election could be his last. We can only hope. He’s milked that POW thing for all its worth already.

He and his stepford wife own 5 houses in Arizona. When asked during the recent presidential race how many homes he owned, he couldn’t recall.

  13. Prairiedog says:

Republican Party needs to jump off a cliff.

They’re tired and useless and just taking up precious resources the rest of us can use. Like food, water and air.
