Chuck Norris: Dangerous, Rightwing Extremist

If you always disliked Chuck Norris, in his long-running TV series, ‘Walker, Texas Ranger,’ chances are you will like him even less as a private citizen who now says thousands of right wing cell groups have organized and are ready for a second American Revolution.

In his syndicated column on WorldNetDaily, Norris writes:

“That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.”

Norris reiterates the point during an appearance on the Glen Beck radio show he promised that if things get any worse from his point of view he may “run for president of Texas.”

The martial artist/actor/activist claims that Texas was never formally a part of the United States in the first place and that if rebellion is to come through secession, Texas would lead the way.

Norris claims that:

“Thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation.”

Let’s hope the FBI as well as local law enforcement keeps a close eye on this whack job.

  1. This asshat should be arrested. It’s funny how Republicans try to “own” patriotic yet they are the first ones who start talking about a revolution when they loose power. It’s called an election you morons, you lost, now deal with it.

  2. Joe in Colorado says:

Sleeper cells? As in, terrorist, sleeper cells? I think you need to be placed on the government’s watch list and monitored closely for behavior consistent with domestic terrorism. If memory serves, these are the same sort of rants people recall Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh make before he blew up the Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

  3. Arizona Leatherneck says:

This Norris cat is like a lot of people I’ve met over the years from Texas.

They have this nutty belief that the state was never a part of the Union and was always a separate nation.

In reality — something Norris lacks, Texas agreed to join the Union in 1845. Congress agreed to pay-off the states enormous $10 million debt. It’s all legal and fair and square, Chuck.

  4. Harry says:

I think Chuck Norris should be locked up for his shitty TV show and for supporting Mike Huckabee. I mean, that’s enough for a life sentence.

  5. TOM339 says:

The alarming thing is, this kind of talk from Norris is the kind of talk that could help him get elected governor of Texas.

There are a lot of people in the Lone Star State who hold similar views as his and they will come out from under their rocks and their trailers to vote him into office.

It’s not so far-fetched. Remember, California elected an aging, former action movie star by the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor. He had no qualifications and it shows. Forty years ago, California launched the political career of Ronald Reagan and his policies continue to be felt today, as the nation never really recovered from his massive tax cut to the rich back in 1981.

Unfortunately, we Americans have a spotted history when it comes to electing people to higher office.

  6. Idaho Librul says:

These secessionist fan boys are all over northern Idaho and many of them are cardcarrying members of hate groups like the Aryan Nation and the Klan.

I have no idea if this is true of Chuck Norris but his rhetoric certainly makes me pause and wonder who and what he means when he talks about “sleeper cells.”

In the post-9/11 world, such language could land you on a watch list.

  7. ironic i think he turned 70 today

  8. DR says:

In all seriousness, let the damn state go. It’s gave us the Bushes, has the highest rate of state-sanctioned murder in the county by almost triple any other state, and is home of a bunch of whack jobs. Let’s just cut our losses.

  9. Russ says:

I really think that statements made by all of the people who oppose Obama’s changes just goes to show how imature and selfish these people are. I always said the southerners will gladly smile and hold open a door for you, stop their cars on the road as a funeral procession passes, make it very obvious they are going to church, but don’t be out of work, homeless or broke because they have no ability to show sincere compassion.

  10. Conejo1982 says:

    Chuck Norris:

    1. lousy martial arts star
    2. embarrassingly bad actor
    3. intellectual midget
    4. paranoid
    5. delusional
    6. kook

  11. Peace Nick says:

A return of the Mason-Dixon line works for me.

All the south has ever done for this country is cause problems.

Rename the country: Northern States of America and Southern States of America. Share the currency but establish two, new capitals and make Washington DC a state.

  12. bradfrmphnx says:

I’ll bet Glenn Beck just sat there with that smug look on his face, nodding his head in agreement. I can’t stand that idiot.

I agree with the posters who say just let Texas go. Not only is it filled with whack jobs, but it is largely made up of Dallas Cowboy fans. And that lot is at the bottom of the cess pool. I wish all those religious rightwingnuts would leave the country. They could all move to Texas or Alaska and secede. Good riddance. I’m tired of them screwing up this country!

  13. Buck says:

“I agree with the posters who say just let Texas go. Not only is it filled with whack jobs, but it is largely made up of Dallas Cowboy fans. And that lot is at the bottom of the cess pool. I agree!

  14. MacDaddy says:

Given the sorry politicians from there, the way they treat people of color, and its high rate of execution of poor people, I’d vote for Texas to secede.

  15. lea-lea says:

Sorry to be a bitch but, I will NEVER forgive Texas for George W. Bush.

They voted for him for governor, unseating Ann Richards, and launched the single most destructive political career in the history of the United States. As far as I’m concerned, I hope a meteor lands smack, dab in the middle of the Lone Star State and wipes if off the North American land mass.

  16. Walk on Socks says:

I looked up “Chuck Norris” on Wikipedia and this is what is says:

“Supports gun rights and ownership, and is against public schools condoning homosexuality. He also does not believe in the theory of evolution, but subscribes to intelligent design.”

Perfect! The GOP has themselves a presidential candidate to run with Sarah Palin in 2012! I’m sure he would carry the dumb-fuck south, Texas and Alaska and Rush Limbaugh would give the ticket his blessing.

  17. Nan Yun says:

Please? What is “intelligent design?” I see this in print and I don’t know meaning or term.
    Thank you,
    Nan

  18. Chuck Norris doesn’t run for president, the presidency runs to Chuck.

  19. Ethan Mendel says:

…Under no circumstances is a revolution in this country acceptable when it is a revolution not for the basic human rights entitled to all humankind but instead due to a disagreement not only of opinions but in terms.
There is no act heroism in throwing off the yoke of oppression when the oppression is merely disagreement.
The nation is ruled by the rule of law, and not accepting that is not only a violation of the most basic principle of the Constitution of our great nation but also an insult to all citizens of the United States who value our way of life.

In summary, if you really don’t like the way things work here move somewhere else. Otherwise, sit down, shut up, and disagree constructively rather than threatening something in order to get people to agree with you.

  20. panasit (the Original) says:

    Nan Yun,

The term Intelligent Design refers to a belief that the universe and life are explained by an intelligent cause — not by an act or evolution, and the design is the work of God.

Adherents of Intelligent Design hold this is an actual scientific theory able to stand along side evolution and Darwinism.

If God is the designer of all things in the Universe, then they can teach creationism as an equal science to evolution. “ID” is associated with the Discovery Institute, a politically conservative think tank.

  21. Brigadoon says:

I’d bet $100 Norris suffers from micro penis syndrome. 🙂

  22. maji says:

Norris is just another hypocrite. After he became rich and famous, he walked off from his wife and children, married a younger woman, started a new family, and started making those Total Gym(?) commericials. Who are these fools to try to act all morally correct in public, while doing everything under the sun and moon in private. They don’t like dems/liberals/progressives because we can see through their lies and bulls%!t. Too bad for them because we’re alert, watching their every move, and fighting back this time. Nevermore will I allow them to spread their lies without impugnity. They must be made to pay politically by losing elections. If Texas puts this no-brainer in office as governor, the poor people in Texas will suffer even more than they are suffering now.

  23. Bill Hussein O'Reilly says:

I could kick Chuck Norris’ 70 year old ass from San Diego, CA to Bangor, ME, with one hand tied behind my back, while eating a ham and cheese sandwich, reading Playboy for the articles.

He’s an old, tired rightwing asshole.

  24. GOPnot4me says:

Nan Yun, check out this link to a summary of the case Kitzmiller et al v. Dover. Sums it up nicely.

    http://gopnot4me.blogspot.com/2008/03/nova-intelligent-design-on-trial-pbs.html

(from last spring’s ‘Blog Against Theocracy’)

As to secession, plz let them go. They will lead the world in bigotry, zealotry, unwed paternity, homocide, pedophilia and so much less. And we can rejoin the reality based community.

  25. libhomo says:

I’ve always had a fantasy of putting a wall around Texas and dumping the Republicans there.

On a serious level, Norris is a nut.

  26. R.J. says:

Chuck better do it this year. Us Tejanos are taking over Texas and we’ll outnumber his “domestic sleeper terrorist cells” very soon.

  27. jimmy says:

These nuts time and time again show themselves to be the real America haters. They hate the Constitution and they run around with secession on their lips. Whackjobs.

  28. Prairiedog says:

Chuck Norris’ bizarre rant echos the same sort of rhetoric heard from the separatist movement. The only difference is, most of these whackos are poor and live in the woods of rural America. Norris by contrast is a rich man and lives on an estate.
