A new nationwide study of anonymised credit-card receipts from a major online adult entertainment provider finds the states who consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption.

Utah, a state overwhelmingly populated by antigay, Mormon bigots, is the biggest porn consumer, averaging 5.47 adult content subscriptions per 1000 home broadband users. Montana, bought the least with 1.92 per 1000.

States where a majority of residents agreed with the statement “I have old-fashioned values about family and marriage,” bought 3.6 more porn subscriptions per thousand people than states where a majority disagreed.

    Utah.
    Conservative.
    Mormon.
    Repressed.

Makes sense to me they would be all into porn to get off a little steam. Freud was right.

  2. stradella says:

So those gay-bashing, sexually repressed Mormons are really a bunch of freaks after all?

Figures. Waving a Bible in one and jerking the monkey with the other.

  3. Brigadoon says:

All those sexually repressed Mormons. Ironic isn’t it? They are so damned worried about gay people but their mailboxes are filled with porno. Talk about hypocrites.

  4. libhomo says:

Wouldn’t it be cool if queer hackers block access to Internet porn in Utah until the sexually frustrated Mormons forced their evil church/hate group to change its policies?

  5. Woodcliffe says:

Mormonland isn’t all Donnie and Marie Osmond and singing religious Psalms.

I read an article in either Time or Newsweek a few years ago that said Salt Lake City has the highest number of homeless teenagers of any large city in the country.

Apparently, the Mormons aren’t raising their youth so well.

  6. Oh, all that porn is bought by NBA teams traveling through to play the Jazz. You know how oversexed and sinful the modern professional athlete is.

  7. Adirondacky says:

I remember the Mormon men published a beefcake calendar last year and I thought the roof on the Mormon tabernacle headquarters was going to crash in on the Elders. You would’ve thought the boys had converted to Judaism. I saw the calendar and it was totally “G”-rated. I agree with all the comments. The residents of Utah need to stop being hypocrites and just admit they enjoy sex.

  8. DMason says:

I have that calendar, Adirondacky. A couple of them are Mormon missionaries and they’re smokin’ hot men. I wish they would come a’ knocking at my front door. I would definitely invite them in for a diet Coke.

  9. Fran says:

    Polygamy & Porn….. What’s the problem?????

  10. no shock in this one…I always knew the mormos were horny little fuckers anyway.

  11. JollyRoger says:

There’s also more unwanted pregnancy, more underage molestation, more incest, and more divorce in Jesusistan. There are no surprises here at all.

  12. Conejo1982 says:

    Well, isn’t this ironic?

The Mormons spent millions of dollars to deny gay couples in California the right to legally marry all the while dropping untold millions on porno.

What a crop of lying, hypocritical fundies.

  13. Idaho Librul says:

There are soooooo many Mormons here in Idaho.

They even have their own newspaper. I heard long ago that a local chain of adult bookstore is owned by the LDS church. It’s very difficult to prove this but the rumor persists.
