Antigay Bigot and Former eBay CEO, Meg Whitman, Makes it Official

Anti-gay marriage supporter and former eBay CEO, Meg Whitman, officially submitted her paperwork to run for California governor, according to the Sacramento Bee.

“The move by the billionaire businesswoman sets up what’s expected to be an expensive, 17-month auction between herself and Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner in the 2010 Republican primary.”

Whitman is rumored to be a Mormon. She’s an oddity among Silicon Valley Republicans, who tend to be social moderates more concerned about lowering taxes and less government regulation than opposing gay rights. However, Whitman, was a vocal supporter of California’s bigoted and controversial Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage.

The hag is a bigot and ugly. You would think with all that coin, she could do something with her hair. It looks like a spider web dipped in peroxide.

  2. retahyajyajav says:

I’m sorry I ever bought anything on ebay.

If I had known who sat at the top, I would never even opened an account with them. Many apologies to the gay community.

  3. Isn’t AAAAhhhhhhhnold running again or do they have term limits? Geeze can the rethugs not think of some other downtrodden group to oppress?

  4. Randy Arroyo says:

I heard the announcement on the drive home from work. Just what California needs in Sacramento. A foaming at the mouth, queer-basher. And I’ve also heard the Mormon rumors too. Whitman is a real bitch on wheels. She needs to move to Utah and leave us alone.

  5. Jim says:

Another Right Winger with money who assumes he or she needs to tell everyone else how to conduct their lives. Play with your Pez dispensers and STFUP!

  7. libhomo says:

As one of the legion of customers that was mistreated by EBay when she ran the company, I can’t wait to give money to her opponent should she win the Gopper nomination.

I hate EBay! I hate EBay! I hate EBay!

  8. Conejo1982 says:

    NUT-Meg. Fuck her.

  9. Fran says:

    Ptttttttttttttttttt

  10. DB says:

I’m pretty sure she is just a homophobe, and not a Mormon. I hope the Dems are able to get someone to run who has enough name recognition to beat her. I think that is what it comes down to in CA politics.

  11. Woodcliffe says:

    Don’t feel bad, retahyajyajav.

My wife is an eBay addict. She loves buying and selling stuff on the site and has made some pretty interesting scores. Like Chinese vases from the 19th century for less than $100 with certificates of authenticity.

When I told her about Meg Whitman and her stance on Prop 8, good liberal she is, said she was through with eBay. Even though Whitman is no longer at the company, I think her antigay views leave a bad taste in customer’s mouths.

  12. Bel Ami says:

    Ugly cow.

  13. Panasit (the real one) says:

I never knew Ebay used to have an anti-gay CEO. Oh now that’s a lot of regrets right there.

  14. VicoDANIEL says:

Whitman could very well be a Mormon.

She was a major fundraiser for and supporter of, GOP Presidential gadfly, Mitt Romney.

Romney’s brand of social conservatism seems to square with Whitman’s antigay views.

My thinking is, if Romney returns for a successful presidential run in 2012, I wouldn’t be the least surprised if Whitman as his Veep.

Mormon and Republican. (I don’t think you are allowed to be anything else in the Mormon cult.)

    ‘Nuff Said!!!

  16. Frank says:

    eBitch!

  17. Deputy Kidding says:

I will absolutly be voting for her, I can’t wait to give as much money as I can into her run for Governor. Less tax’s, less state workers, Prop 8 upheld, what could be better! Now we’ll see how a woman with morals can lead our state and maybe our Nation!

    You Go Girl!

  18. barry says:

I hope she wins!! Yay for prop 8!!!

  19. Rosemary says:

I will absolutly be voting for her, California needs a leader with business sense. Drop the issues of anti-gay. That decision was rendered by ballot vote. I am sure that the issue will be back – but the Governor DOES NOT decide public policy issues. Meg Whitman has come out as a Pro-Choice supporter. That is a far cry from most other Republicans – but that isn’t an issue to me in this election. California is in trouble – the economy and bringing jobs and business back to this state has to be the priority – this woman was successful at bringing EBay from a small company into a very succesful corporation. We need that kind of leadership in our Governor. The voters need to put their religious prejudices aside and support the candidate that can help our biggest problem!

  20. Greg says:

The woman single-handedly turned me against eBay. She put in a system that supports the big companies and denies the little seller the opportunity to excel- and the little seller is the person who made eBay what it is. It scares me to think she will be in play nationally at some point. God help us all at that time. I don’t know which is worse really: her or Palin.

  21. gerry gross says:

ms. whitman did oversee the change of ebay from a populist online garage sale into the money grubbing machine it is now. shame on her for that. she now seems to have morphed into the typical political animal, offering nothing but platitudes in her much too numerous radio spots. why should any of that incite the vindictive barrage displayed here? Tell me what great things we have seen in the last 30 years in this state? get your brains (if you have them) working and look around. Whitman is not the answer, Brown is more of the same. everyone that understands where california is heading is heading for the border. Ahhnuuld is off looking for more ‘federal’ dollars, trying to dupe the rubes into believing those are free. It’s your hard earned dollars that are being flushed, folks (if you actually work). wake up and smell the deficits.

  22. Meg Whitman is not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints or Mormon.

  23. jayne says:

`YAHHHHHH i’m a voting for her.. its about time someone with morals ran.. why is just because she doesnt believe in ur life style she isnt good enough.. goes to show how shallow ur al r.. hahahha

  24. sukiyhtaky says:

Meg has a pro-choice stand to protect the rights of women. To say she is a bigot or anti-gay because she is pro-prop 8 is to deny her the protection of her religious rights. I was for prop 8 and I have worked for gay rights longer than most people posting on this site have been alive. This country was based on Christian values and marriage is a Christian value no matter how you look at it. I am not a Christian and I think they should be allowed to have marriage. Gays should have the right to have a civil union and if a rogue Christian church wants to carry out the ordinance go for it. You cannot champion the rights of one group at the expense of those of another. Mormon? with her stance on pro-choice? Get real.

  25. sukiyhtaky,

There are so many things wrong and factually incorrect with your post, that I don’t know where to start.

    You opine:

I was for prop 8 and I have worked for gay rights longer than most people posting on this site have been alive.

You cannot claim you support gay rights and then say you supported Prop 8. Proposition 8 sought to deny rights to gay and lesbian couples. Separate but equal, was struck down by the US Supreme Court as unconstitutional.

    You write:

This country was based on Christian values and marriage is a Christian value no matter how you look at it.

No matter how much revisionist history you engage in, this statement is wrong.

The United States is the world’s oldest surviving federation. It is a constitutional republic and representative democracy, “in which majority rule is tempered by minority rights protected by law.” There is nothing inherently or innately Christian about the founding of this country.

About marriage. Marriage, is a legal contract. It is not by its definition Christian. Atheists marry and people unable or uninterested in having children marry. Marriage is a social union or legal contract between individuals that creates kinship. It is an institution in which interpersonal relationships.

Meriting out rights from the Hill, you allow:

Gays should have the right to have a civil union…

Gee, should I bow down to my Massa and say ‘thank you?’ Will you allow us the right to housing? The right to employment? Healthcare? Food and shelter? Cable TV? It isn’t up to you to make our committed relationships separate but, equal.

And lastly, you state without guile:

You cannot champion the rights of one group at the expense of those of another.

That’s precisely what you are doing. But, your blind arrogance prevents you from seeing it. You’re the one who needs to “get real.” We don’t need, nor do we require your support. Go do something worthwhile like working to get Whitman elected governor.

  26. Meg Whitman states that she is a Presbyterian

By Leah Garchik, San Francisco Chronicle

Whitman, who had described herself earlier as objective, admitted she had voted for Prop. 8. She said that decision had to do with both her religion – Presbyterian – and her emotions.

  27. Shayne K. says:

Frankly, I don’t care if Meg is Mormon, Presbyterian, or Scientologist.

What I care about is the fact that she’s a rightwing, social conservative and holds views far to the right of the majority of mainstream Californians.

Perhaps she should be running for governor of Arizona or mayor of Baghdad. But not California.

  28. Mel bfleming II says:

Meg Whitman and Janet Feorino are both bad for the state of California. I’m voting for Jerry Brown and Barbara boxer.

  29. Kristi Gilleland says:

I hated her as CEO of eBay – she RUINED it.

You know I don’t trust a woman that would spend millions on a political campaign and miss what $1.00 of Suave conditioner would do to help her appearance.

  30. Michael says:

As usual, gays as second class. Fuck all of you and the dyke who is Whitmans assistant.

Defeat the whore before she defeats you!

  31. Ekaterina says:

Yeah, and Meg Whitman also only cares about fame and money. She is truly wrong for California, so that’s why I’ll vote for Jerry Brown.

  32. jack martens says:

Meg Whitman complains about job losses in California. Isn’t it interesting that ebay has moved many of their jobs to a service center in Salt Lake City? Mormon or not, she is supporting Mormon efforts to control American politics.

  33. me says:

good god, she’s the ugliest thing i ever laid my sorry eyes upon. And brain dead to boot. God helps us if she ever gets in. her pathetic campaign writers talk about how she single handedly made ebay what it is. It’s dead obvious they could have had a monkey as CEO and it would have done just as well because ebay’s success was purely due to the fact it was an idea who’s time had come and nothing any CEO did could have altered that in either direction ! Oh wait…..they DID have a monkey as CEO. 🙂 She’s a pathetic loser who was in the right place at the right time and wants to be governor for herself, not for California. freakin’ sea hag !

  34. John Fox says:

Just awful. This rich woman is the most uncharitable person on the planet!

  35. Ronald Reagan says:

Good God,even this stiff can’t sleep peacefully with the idea that she will set back the state more than I ever did. Get this one for the Gipper!

  36. Gordon says:

How many of you gay rights proponents exist due to the result of a homosexual union? Yeah, I thought so.

  37. Pissed says:

New to selling on its site and just received a `question’ and comment from a bigot aka uniconsales ebay seller [eBay100% rated too!] to a `question’ I was trying to decipher
    Dear xxxx [me],
It doesn’t matter, I am not in educational competition, but you must be Jewish. Only jew replies on question with another question
    – uniconsales
Think it best I stop trying to deal with this kind of platform or its 100% rated sellers – is this a Nazi attack? Where can I turn to expose this type of individual – this is wrong!
