“At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won’t be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black.”- George Clooney, weighs in on Prop 8

I just wish we could speed up history.

I love George Clooney. He’s a good man, actor and his politics are great. He “gets it” and he’s not afraid to speak out in support of gay rights. I feel terrible about what the Mormons did to the gay community in California. It’s not fair and they can’t be allowed to get away with it.

I have always said that far too often, religion is a way for haters to feel good about hating. In a communal setting, haters don’t see themselves as the despicable scum that they usually are.

Tax the fucking churches. If they’ve got money and time to spend legislating hate, then they ought to be able to set aside a sum for the people who keep their roads paved and their equipment safe from theft.

Yes, yes, yes! All churches should be paying taxes just like the American people and corporate America. It’s insane to make the American taxpayer underwrite the social activism of modern, organized religion in this country.

I loves me some George Clooney.

I hope Clooney runs for governor.

He’s smart and charismatic and liberal to the core. I think he would make a wonderful California governor.

“everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace…”

    Including Obama and Biden.

    And the Clintons.

And vitually all the leaders of the Dems.

With Democrats like that who needs Republicans.
