On the day the Washington Post endorsed Barack Obama for president, the McCain/Palin campaign launched a slough of dirty anti-Obama robocalls, along with the help of the RNC. Despite pledging to run a respectful campaign, John McCain is running one of the dirtiest campaigns ever.
One of them (listen HERE) says:
“I’m calling on behalf of John McCain and the RNC because you need to know that Barack Obama and his Democrat allies in the Illinois Senate opposed a bill requiring doctors to care for babies born alive after surviving attempted abortions — a position at odds even with John Kerry and Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama and his liberal Democrats are too extreme for America. Please vote — vote for the candidates who share our values. This call was paid for by McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee at 202 863 8500.”
And,
Another (listen HERE) says “Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats got caught putting Hollywood above America. On the very day our elected leaders gathered in Washington to deal with the financial crisis, Barack Obama spent just 20 minutes with economic advisers, but hours at a celebrity Hollywood fundraiser. Where are the Democrats’ priorities?”
And,
A third (listen HERE) says, “Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats aren’t who you think they are. They say they want to keep us safe, but Barack Obama said the threat we face now from terrorism is nowhere near as dire as it was in the end of the Cold War. And Congressional Democrats now want to give civil rights to terrorists.”
And,
A fourth (listen HERE) says, “You need to know that Barack Obama has worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, whose organization bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, a judge’s home, and killed Americans. And Democrats will enact an extreme leftist agenda if they take control of Washington. Barack Obama and his Democratic allies lack the judgment to lead our country.”
It’s gets even worse for the Old Coot. The robotcalls may be violating the National Political Do Not Contact Registry law. John McCain. Wrong on Iraq. Wrong on taxes. Wrong on Barack Obama and a law breaker, too.
Living here in the heart of McCain/Palin infested Pennsylvania is just so damn frustrating. These assholes are swallowing this sh*t hook, line & sinker. Talk about suckers…
Anything that was once decent and honorable about John McCain disappeared the day he decided to run for president.
He’s sold his soul to the GOP Devil.
If I ever receive a robotcall from the McCain campaign I will report it to the FCC.
John McCain is so full of shit, he’s going to need a personal Plumber!
Oregon State declared political Robocalls solicitations, and are banned. I’ve been spared the trauma of having to listen to such calls. Whew~ what a relief it is.
Poor McCain.
He keeps pushing the Ayers line and his poll numbers just keep tanking.
I reminded of the quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin:
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
McCain and insanity got together like salt and pepper.
No one should expect the slightest bit of decency from “Keating Five” McCain.
u know they been passing out flyers saying if u got a warrent they will arrest u if u go and vote
Darlin’, they’re only preachin’ to the choir..anyone with half a brain will know better.. I do think that the blogosphere has been great in vetting the repub nutjobs and dispelling all of these idiot claims..people do google searches you know..we just have a few more weeks to endure..hang in there!! (I know it’s easy to get riled up but I’m so tired off it..we’re gonna cream them you know that don’t you??)
Ingrid
Maybe they can have “Joe the Plumber” record one for them now. He can talk about the “values” he and McKeating share. “Values” like keeping one’s wife in line through corporal punishment, as an example.
Not shocking, just said. So glad you posted this, FTL. I’ve never seen a campaign run so dirty as the one McCain/Palin are running. It comes across, even to GOPs as desperate. I suppose that’s a good sign, right?
